Using G3's in the USA

Recommended Posts

Hi there. Fairly new here. Canadian shooting in Charleston, South Carolina for 3 days and then New Orleans for 2. Mostly using 3 Wires(g3's) Can I expect any interference problems with them? Any tips or recommendations is helpful. renting lectro a is an option but will dip into my fee. Low budget.

thanks!

In lieu of an external scanner (--recomended--), peruse the Sennheiser Frequency Finder which is tied to the FCC TV broadcast database. This will allow you to at least avoid local b'cast TV.

.. Lucky you!!! The Sennheiser site indicates for the Charleston SC area, quite a few vacant and low modulation TV channels in the 470-608 MHz range (Sennheiser G3 blocks A1, A and G). So choose frequencies in a vacant TV channel and you'll probably be ok. And pity us po' folk who work in Manhattan (aka, RF hell)

Oh dang, looks like Sennheiser is only showing the 470-608mhz range now despite the rest of the 600's being legal for the time being.  Bummer!
