Derek H
Wondering if 1/8 watt metal film resistors are sufficient for Lectro lav wiring or if 1/4 Watt are needed for some reason. J Im guessing 1/8 W is fine otherwise they’d spell it out in the wiring guide. Also, while I’m here.. has anyone experimented with resistor values for DPA wires? If so any opinions? Lectro recommends between 3-4kOhm. The 3056 microdot adapter uses 3.9k. I’m guessing it’s a horse-a-piece. Whatever that means.
jason porter
1/8 watt is what they supply with their ta5f kits. Definitely easier to fit in the connector.
Trey LaCroix
I use a 1.8k resistor in my 4061s and enjoy keeping my TX gain a bit lower. I do not notice any difference in sound.
LarryF
You could use a 1/20th Watt resistor. Actual dissipation is less than 6 mW (.006 Watt). Values from 1k to 4k will work fine, with the lower values giving 12 dB more output. The 3.9k supplied is a standard value and gives transmitter gain settings that most users are comfortable with. Metal film resistors are always used for lower resistor noise. Common carbon resistors were noisy but fortunately, these days, not even made in small sizes. Another fun fact: Lectro will send you mic bias resistors in a plain, unmarked envelope at no charge. Neither the postman or your neighbors will know. Call service 800 821-1121. Mirror
Last shipment I got from Lectro came packaged like this. What gives??? No, that didn't happen.
