alidav
what do you use as carrying bag for daily works to travel with your kit, recorder (in own bag), 1or 2 windshield, radio mic etc. how do you fit all your gear? I actually own a photo small bag with batteries, lavs accessories, transmitters, ifb, tape etc. I fit the photo bag, the zeppelin boom pole, my sound devices 664 in petrol bag, into a pelican trolley, but it is really heavy. Pelican is really great for safe transfers on an airplane, but not for daily small travel by car and or public transportation.
KGraham045
I use the Orca OR Cart for larger productions where I don’t quite know what gear is needed. And the CineBags Revolution BackPack CB25B for gigs that are more simple/prepared. DanieldH
On some productions we've used trolley(ß) style Pelican cases, those with 2 weels. Züca is quite popular too. When wheels are no option, I use something like this: http://jwsoundgroup.net/index.php?/topic/11069-the-bubenzer-boom-stand/&do=findComment&comment=263903

DanieldH
It is just a bigger "urban traveler" backpag/bag padded to host a laptop computer. You won't fit a soundbag inside. The Companion is dicontinued but ther e should be similar bags on the market. Here are some pics (and a non-english) review: http://deuterbackpacks.blogspot.de/2009/08/companion-deuter-mochila-de-notebook-ou.html?m=
Bouke
Over here these plastic boxes are very popular: https://www.utzgroup.com/en/products/stacking-containers/ Look for the Rako series with lid. (grey / dark grey.) Lightweight and cheap. They are way more sturdy than they look, you can stand on them. The el cheapo looking white plastic closure clips are actually really good. No need for a lock. If you want to ship something, just two tie rips will do the trick. They come in a lot of sizes, all Euro sized, so they stack well in a lot of combinations, also with half open crates from other brands. Foam sized to fit is avaialable in varous thickness. Problem with Pelicase is that it does not stack on anything, and everyone who sees a pelican immediately knows there is something valuable inside. (While the caterer on the job also has these cases for his coffee cups...)
berniebeaudry
Those look really nice! I don't use a Pelican around town, but could use an upgrade to my $8.00 plastic bins. Thanks for sharing! BB
Philip Perkins
I use the sort of "wheely" briefcase/computer bag that I see lots of nerds using in the SF downtown tech world. Could not be more anonymous, in that context...
daniel
I really like the look of the build quality of the Cinebags - would be great if they had 1 with a side access like some of the LowePro bags. Could set bag up so a M.P3/6 could be operated through the the side access and then zipped up and quickly swung onto the back for a fast move. https://store.lowepro.com/slingshot-edge-250-aw?_ga=2.82009558.1779729650.1529094340-1538507024.1529004073 https://store.lowepro.com/freeline-bp-350-aw?_ga=2.19017208.1779729650.1529094340-1538507024.1529004073
Ilari Sivil
I carry my cables, batteries and smaller pouches in a large assault pack from Varusteleka. It will also fit some extra clothes, straps and a first aid kit. Add a couple of bongo ties and you can strap a boom pretty comfortably on the side, not to mention the PALS-expandability: https://www.varusteleka.com/en/product/sarma-large-assault-pack/57016 The recorder stays in its own bag and I carry my mics in a knockoff Pelican. fieldmixer
If you are in the Market for a bag, message me. I happen to have, the LAST brand new, Pelican todd gustafson photo safari soft roller bag. It is absolutely the best imo for sound kit. awesome for flying. Purchased from Todd himself. After a few months using it, i splurged and bought a second. His last. Just in case something happened to the first. Its that great. No longer made. Ben B
I use an Tamrac Anvil 27 https://www.tamrac.com/products/anvil-27. It fits my small kit for docu and smaller jobs with the boom on the side of the bag and my sound bag that i carry in one hand. There are still a couple pockets free for your keys and phone! It's super comfortable and heavy duty. I took it through many cities, planes rides, up the mountains many times, in snow and hot weather. It didn't disappoint!
