This is great!
Loving the PTTTTP!
Interested to know /see what the “headband mounted webbing” is, and what mics are used.
Thanks for sharing.
Well done! How are you micing the puppeteers? Headsets or? And the playback audio gets to your Cantar via the LS9 Dante feed?
I noticed the puppeteers have a AD and a DA before it hits their ears, any delay?
That is some fine documentation.
Very cool and well planned out! I had a blast mixing with the Muppets a few years back (for a music video) although you have a way more sophisticated setup than I did.
Any pictures of your cart pulling all this off?
Puppeteers wear custom headbands with loops for routing 2 mics and earbuds. One mic is a cheap ME-2 for the comms system. The other one's are DPA 4060 Cores and Sanken COS-11s for capturing the dialogue for edit and for the puppeteer's mix minuses.
Playback goes out via the LS-9 and routes wirelessly to the VOG Speaker and my cart. We can send it via Dante too.
No delay problems. We've been running this system for 8 months now.
I'll get a couple of pictures when I'm back to the studio Monday.
Thanks for the answers Chris! I soooo wish I was part of this complex piece of art and technology you have crafted. I would say I am jealous but jealousy is like handling a hot coal, only the jealous get burned. Ha! Fantastic work and I wish you great success! - Big plus... I found something new to watch, thanks!
Nicely done and very hifi too.
It's like the aircraft carrier of sound carts!

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the box in the rack right above the Venue, with the big thumb wheel?
Phil, if you click on the picture, you can zoom in. Looks like there's a Venue 2 RX right above an "original" Venue RX, and a Remote Audio SpeakEasy above that...
But Chris can fill us in...
Ah of course
That's right. And there is a Lectro SRC next to the X3 for an extra couple of channels via an AES backplate.
