Scott Clements, CAS
Would there be any advantage to leaving a dvd in the recorders drive over night while its bouncing around on the truck? I remember they used to put a "slug" in new dvd players and computer drives. I assume it was to keep things from bouncing around. Is there any merrit in doing this? Guest BobD
The porta columns all have that dummy disc inside for transport, so good question. All this time though, knock on wood I have had no issues without on my recorders.
old school
That is a good question Scott. I have no idea what the answer is. Maybe Glen or John or LSC have an answer. I have had no problems with my dvd drive in my Deva 4. It sits on my cart and rides in my van all over So Cal. I wonder if it is a good idea or a bad one to keep a disk in. Philip Perkins
I've always traveled my SD DVDram (attached to my cart) w/o a disk in, ditto w/ my laptops. Thinking about it I think I'd NOT like having a disk in there when the burner is moved. On the other hand people leave DVDs in their car stereos all the time.....
