This is how I do it but I believe there is some better way to do it. The button "Insert Hyperlink" does not seem to accomplish what you are talking about. I copied this text string and keep it available to paste into my post:

(you must remove the X's --- they are there so that I can display the text string here --- leave the tag intact, just take the "X" away)

[Xurl=http://somesite/]Site Name[/urlX]

You replace after the = sign the full URL of the site you wish to link, making sure it ends with the one backslash /

Then replace Site Name with the text you wish to display that represents the URL (like "Read the article Here"). That text, the Site Name, becomes the hyperlink.
