Greg
Hi I have some questions regarding IFB systems. I would like to know how to get a cleaner monitoring "live" and "playback" source from a VT system. Particularly the Raptor recorders used in some VT carts. I always seem to get the a constant inteference when plugging in a comtek transmitter. The sound itself is fine other than the the noise of what I think is the drives from the Raptors spinning on standby or pause mode. is there any way of eliminating the noise floor, could it be the case of balance VS unbalnced. Are there other IFB systems to look at and other setups that I can try ? GReg
mikefilosa
Greg - are your Raptors looking for +4 or -10? As you know, I am a big fan of hardwire feeds to vidassist, usually padded down, but when I go with wireless ifb, it's usually my Lectros..... lotsa gain out of that mini-jack... and a real receiver antenna... Frankly, maybe a dedicated wireless mic system might be your answer... ? Some Lectro receivers (210s for instance), have switchable gain outputs, from zero db to mic level... Call me when you have some free time... Michael Filosa, CAS Atlanta Field Production, Inc. 404-636-9888 / 9988
