Jim Gilchrist
Lowell George met his tragic end 36 years ago today, in a room at the long-gone Twin Bridges Marriott, on the Arlington, Virginia end of the 14th Street Bridge. I was fortunate to attend his last show, on June 28, 1979 at the Lisner Auditorium in Washington, DC. George and Little Feat were house favorites at the venue. al mcguire
CNN had a show about Glen Campbell last night and it got me to searching for a youtube video of Glen singing Gentle on My Mind during a Nashville Network Guitar Pull. In a room full of the best singers, songwriters and musicians he pulls off a solo that gets the rooms attention.
old school
One of my regrets is that I never saw Lowell George and Little Feat. I've seen post L G L F and they are very good but Lowell's voice is so great. Glad you caught them Jim. Good video. Wrecking Crew all star for sure Al. Jim Gilchrist
Just because, Tedeschi Trucks Band with Sharon Jones and Doyle Bramhall II covering the Etta James tune "Tell Mama." Jones had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2013 but it looks like she's back on her feet.
