Daniel Bohm
Hi all! I'll have to work with an ARRI 235 35mm camera. Please write down your experince with it. How noisy it is indoor-outdoor, what do I have to look for, etc... I'll probably use my PD6 with EX12 or SD788t. Thank you for your responses! studiomprd
Arri's MOS (unblimped) cameras are pretty noisy, and also may not have crystal control motors. " I'll probably use my PD6 with EX12 or SD788t. " even if you use a Nagra 6, it won't make any difference!
JimMansen
Ask that they use a 25-250 zoom at the long end and bring a furniture pad for a barney, then maybe. Seriously.... ask them to bring a barney ...they do make a difference. But rest assured. It is a noisy camera.

RPSharman
It's pretty bad, and not considered a sync-sound camera. I did a commercial with it. Budweiser or Bud Lite or something, so not like they didn't have the budget. But there was only one line being spoken, only a couple of words, and they planned to stay in the wide because of the spectacular location (Pinnacles). So they elected to get the less expensive camera rental and get the lines wild at the end of the day. What are you gonna do?
old school
Daniel, I ditto all that has been said about the 235. If by chance your location/environment is loud and strong to begin with and the lens is long enough you can get useable dialog. In close with the camera or a quite live room, sound death. No good. Good luck. CrewC
Daniel Bohm
I could talk to the DOP and we agreed in Arri 535 B! The 235 will only be used in some mos situations... Happy:) Thank you for your responses!!! Daniel
