  Production sound   mixer needed for comedic short film with all award winning crew and cast*. Shoots   this weekend in West Hollywood. Very tight budget, but you will be working with   producers/director who work on major studio films*, on a great set wtih a family   type crew. Our sound mixer just got very very sick, and cannot   work.

Must own equipment. Please respond with resume. Thank you for your   time!

* that would make this a DGA project... and "all award winning cast" would certainly make it SAG, maybe AFTRA...

I read those ads for the entertainment value.

I see a lot of ads like that say, "we just lost our sound mixer" all the time.  Im wondering if some sound mixers are purposely saying they will do a job, and either never intend to show, or jump off when something better comes along.
