Jeff Wexler
I found an interesting product that could be useful for all those using Mac Mini's on the cart for Boomrecorder, Metacorder, etc. The new iMo eye9 has it ALL. A full 9" touchscreen with improved, crystal-clear 1024x600 resolution plus a 1.3 megapixel rotating detachable webcam…but there's more, much more: a built-in stylus that ingeniously doubles as an easel stand, a standard base that allows for multiple viewing angles plus landscape and portrait viewing modes, easy removal for tablet-style use, and (with the Flex-Arm Mount, purchased separately) quick, secure mounting to virtually any surface! PC and Mac compatible, works with Windows and Mac OSX. http://www.mimomonitors.com/products/imo-eye9
greg sextro
Jeff, It should be noted that these monitors can only work if you already have a monitor with your computer. From the FAQ section: Can I use my Mimo monitor as my primary (and only) display? Generally Mimo monitors only function as additional displays, not primary displays. You may need to connect a standard VGA primary display each time your computer is restarted to configure your Mimo monitor as a primary display. Still a useful tool - but I decided against getting one of these for my mac mini because I only was looking for one display. -Greg-

I thought it could be chosen as the primary (and only) display --- I guess I didn't really read enough about it. I suppose it would be an easy way to add a remote - touchscreen capable display to a laptop (assuming the laptop screen qualifies as the monitor). greg sextro
It is a bummer. The price point is good, and there are many of these types of displays showing up online and in stores like Best Buy. I did a bunch of research a few months ago when getting my cart set up - and I remember looking at this company's website. I ended up with a Xenarc monitor. Price was a little higher, but I'm happy with what I have. -Greg-
Edwardo Santiago
Greg, Thank you for your reply. I was hoping to set up a mac mini soon for my metacorder rig using a Mimo monitor. I'm glad you read the thread and posted the information about Xenarc. It's always nice to read the advice of others in the field. Thank you,
Guest chris calandro
Here's something I have been doing for about a year now. Mac's have vnc built in. I bought a android tablet and have been connecting to remote desktop via vnc, and using the tablet as my touch screen monitor. There is a little bit of lag, but It has yet to fail me.
