Eric Toline
Eric, you have been so concise and on it with your post are you on a new medication? xoxo Larry Hopefully you're not confusing me with the Senator. Tell you what. If you're going to be at NAB, you can buy the 1st round and I'll tell you how I do it. Eric
larry long
Eric, I will not be there but I will have the apoc drop ship shots for you!
RadoStefanov
Good news. Now let see the price tag. $5000? (: Dealers will be able to take orders as of tomorrow. Nomads hardware is done. Software, for all intents and purposes, is done - although there will be some final tweaks before final release. Shipping should be before the summer. Jack Norflus
Good news. Now let see the price tag. $5000? (: There are a few different versions of Nomad - so I am sure you will be able to find something to fit all price points.
Zack
I'm guessing a starting point around 3499.99.

Jack Norflus
Dealers will be able to supply you with actual prices but I think you find Nomad price points very reasonable and quite competitive.
Boomboom
Will there be a manual so we can have a peek at functions ? :-)

Zack
I have to say, I really love the design on the XLR in's.
Chris McCallum
The XLR inputs alone prove it was designed in consultation with someone in the field! It will be nice to see what kind of subgroup feeds can be sent as a 2 track mixdown for preview and camera links
Zack
This thing is really, really nice.... wow, but I still love my Fusion
soundslikejustin
The XLR inputs alone prove it was designed in consultation with someone in the field! It's a skinnier, prettier version of the as-yet-unreleased Sonosax. I like it.

RadoStefanov
the new sonosax mixer recorder is designed the same as far as xlrs. I doubt sonasax can beat zaxcom price. Is the nomad upgradable? Lets say I buy 6 channel now and want the 8 channel later. Actually taken straight from the Cantar... ;-)

Christian Spaeth
I'm wondering considering buying a Nomad 8 instead of a 788T+CL8. I'm wondering what the workflow is like for recording ISOs + a mix track. I mean, how do I switch the faders pre/post? Is there a button or does one have to use the menu? I've never touched a Zaxcom unit before, so I don't know how to do that on a Fusion or Deva.

So you can assign any input to any output. And each card record source can be easily switched from pre or post fade with one push of the menu button. OscarL
How does the buttons work? In the short video on Coffey's site it looks like you have to press one of the pots to shift the buttons to transport control, where's the big red button that says REC? For ENG work you will press menu and record to start recording - there is a red led on the far left of the face that let's you know when you are recording - and a secondary LED that will let you know if you are mirroring. Also the TC numbers turn red when you are recording.

You can set each recording track to record either pre or post fade. So you can either use the faders for record levels or you can use the input trim for record level.
