Nomad update

You don't have to touch a fader to pan. In the new two bus mode your Left / Right panning is accomplished by one push of the menu knob. You will turn the menu knob to the right or left to select the channel you want to pan and then push the menu knob.

You will have to touch a fader to activate the "auto-trim" for that channel though.

Jack

So just to clarify, one has to push the menu knob, turn to the appropriate channel, push the menu knob again to select the channel, then turn again to pan left center, or right?

To pan/route a channel to a bus:

Press the bus key. Then press the menu knob to select Left,Right or center.

The menu knob when pressed will select through L,R,C or off.

Rotating the menu knob will select any of 8 analog inputs to change the pan/route selection.

The pan/bus channel selection can follow the auto-trim assignment as well.

I forgot to post that the pan/routing function is assignable to output busses 1-2, 3-4 and 5-6 in any combination. If the pan/routing is changed it can effect any combination of bus pairs at the users discression as deturmined by a setup selection.

Each bus assignment can still be individualy selected in the bus xpoint selection menu.

Hard question to answer because rf range is dependent on many variables.  The ifb works on 2.4 gig while the Sennheiser G3 is UHF.  Assuming the same antennas (which is unlikely), 2.4 gig works better in an enclosed space and UHF would have better range out doors.  Assuming clean frequencies, the G3 should have better range.  (but the G3 cannot transmit time code and transmitter control signals as well as high quality audio).

Best,

Billy Sarokin

Glenn,

I have no experience with your IFB line products.

How much is the approximate range of the IFB TX out of nomad?

Is it better then Sennheiser g3?

  • 1 month later...

There is indication of compression level on each track.  I am not familiar with current DEVA displays but the compression indication is exactly the same as the compression indicators on the Cameo.  The compression indicator is part of the meter.

Doubtful. It's not on the Fusion, or Deva, which have larger screen real-estate to play with. Though it could be done by having the track meter blink, or even having a 'virtual limiter light' turn on at the end of each meter. If it's a software thing it would be fairly easy to implement, but keep in mind that the Nomad features a new limiter in the analogue domain, so maybe not...
