WhyOne
Jeff, Who's counting, but I've noticed my "number of posts" has been frozen at 82 for a month, yet I've been active. Jay
studiomprd
82 is your limit!
Eric Toline
82 is your limit! Apparently you have no limit, frozen or not. Eric
Jeff Wexler
I don't know why the post stats aren't working properly. You are not the only one who has noticed this. I will look into it.

WhyOne
Does this mean it isn't happening to everyone? Are we experiencing a "POST COUNT GAP?" Anyone want to exchange a few post credits for a carbon credit?
Mirror
Why not? They're both pretend.
WhyOne
Forty posts later.......... 82 and holding.
Jeff Wexler
* * * PROBLEM SOLVED * * * We should be good for the POST COUNT stat now. The last update to IPB software created a new forum by forum setting, a setting which used to be a site-wide default setting that would increment post counts everytime a member posted. This new setting (it took me some time to find it) has post count now enabled for all sections of this site. I believe by getting this new setting correct, post counts have been "updated" to reflect posting history for all our members.
al mcguire
hi jeff personally I wish you would do away with the number of posts being listed

Eric Toline
If mine still says 1707 then it's still stuck. Eric Nope it's fixed, now 1708.
Jeff Wexler
So, by popular demand (actually, no one demanded anything) the Post Count stat that was broken then fixed, has now been removed. The ongoing effort to get rid of clutter on this site, the box to the left of posts will now show a member's name, the member rank (Hero Member, Newbie, etc. --- unless the member has changed this to show something else) and online/offline status. Member post count will still increment and is available in the Member's Profile, it just won't display next to the posts.

So, the popular demand was that one person wanted it? It must be nice to be that popular. <g>
studiomprd
Frankly, the post count was clutter. SENATOR Mike Popular
John Blankenship
I notice in the member list that we have two Jeff Wexlers here. They look strikingly similar. I wonder which one is the imposter.
Jeff Wexler
You are right about the 2 Jeffs --- the one with all the numbers after the name actually came over from the old site. There were some conflicts between the 2 Administrators (me and the other me) that I was never able to resolve. I wish there was a "merge member" routine to clear this up. No worries.
