Colin Heath
Today i got an unexpected phone call from Don at Loon Audio. Which is funny when you think of how in the last year you had to call him about 5-6 times a day to maybe just maybe hear him pick up just once. And now he's calling me out of the blue, oh have the tides have turned. He was calling to check on all of his poles he had sold in the last year. He apologized again for his here or there responses, and was proud to say he has gotten his shop back up to speed. He moved to CA but then his business took a tumble and he packed up and headed back to Montana to his old shop. Hes now gotten back up to speed and is ready to start pushing out his great product again. When he told me this, i was happy for him and for us! May loon start pumping out those poles we love to use. He said he was going to be updating his website in a couple weeks. Thumbs up.

Although I did talk to Don on the phone and was extremely helpful, he has yet to make an apperance and I just don't see this trend coming to an end. Boomboom
Well well well ... Best poles around, most erratic behavior from a company... we're in - we're out - we're in ................. Let's see what it gives in the next weeks since very, very simple moves from them could change a lot for their business

Never play cards with a man named Doc? Never drink in a bar with a blender? Unfortunately, we'll never know for sure, see #2 above. soundslikejustin
Got a similar email to Colin's phone call, checking on the state of one of my orders (it was back in '09 so all was good for me). He also apologised for the lack of communication, and any failure of support Loon has shown, and is trying very hard to make good. Thumbs up. Hopefully they will stay up. Good luck on not getting thumb strain. Just be aware that this isn't the first time he's made apologies and excuses for previous disappearances followed by heartfelt promises. I wish him luck but the onus is on him. "Once burned, twice shy."

"Once burned, twice shy." +1 John put it best. All I will say is the three times in 10 years of owning Ktek boom poles I have needed service or replacement parts Ktek took care of it quickly and for very little or no cost. I would never buy another boom pole for anyone else. Same reason I choose Denecke over Ambient for Timecode products when I needed my slates serviced they serviced them the same day they received them that is what I call service I'd wish Loon the best and it would go along way if Don would post on the forum and explain himself. John Blankenship
...suggestion made more than once... Many months ago as he was starting to tell me all the reasons for his company's problems, I told him he should post here on JWS and explain. He assured me he would do just that. He didn't. If he wants to maintain any credibility in this industry, he should start a full and open dialog sooner, rather than later. People are willing to forgive, but forgetting takes longer. johnpaul215
I got an email too about a pole I bought back in .... 2008? I understand the frustration from people that had issues with orders. I would be pretty ticked off (to put it mildly), BUT I don't think he needs to air the dirty laundry of his company on the internet. That probably would stir up some legal issues. If you are that worried about future purchases, then maybe buy them through a dealer that has them in stock, or take some other precaution till you know things are moving smoothly. They really are great poles. If they weren't, nobody would care if they still existed.
Boomboom
I really don't mind about the laundry but just showing up here would be a nice idea if they want to make a new start, to start with... first of the "very simple moves" I had in mind.
