dcsimon
I've been planning upgrades to the kit and have found google sketchup extremely helpful in properly sizing the racks and laying things out before buying parts, anyone else using cad to layout parts and such? old school
Looks cool and I'm sure it is helpful but I still use graph paper a pencil to draw out plans in the design stage. When I draw the final design I use a pen n graph paper. What can I say other than I am the son of a Draftsman. CrewC
Devendra Cleary
This looks great Crew! Nice way to experiment with sizes and get a feel for how it looks. Aesthetics are important in my opinion. You're the one who has to look at it all day. Ha. Missed you at the CAS Cart Parade! old school
The top picture is from Dana Simmons CAD drawing Devandra. I wish I could of been at the parade but I'm on day 12 of 18 straight . I saw some of the carts from the Sound n Picture post. Next time I hope. Peter Kurland
I just started with Sketchup. It really helps. I was working (slowly) in AutoCad which was better for the fabricators but not great for me. There's 8020 profiles in the SketchUp collection but I didn't know that when I started. Peter Kurland
Its just waiting on a tiny design change and then 8020 will ship it to me. Of course, then it needs to be wired and the base portion needs to be ordered. (But it is probably going to be a commercially available cart.) soundslikejustin
This looks great! How are you doing the front 'doors'? Are the just on rack-case style hinges or something different?
