intercom interface on Goodyear Blimp?

I'd like to make my own adaptor cable to interface with the intercom system on the Goodyear Blimp. I've asked them for technical details and am awaiting a reply. Just curious if anyone here has recorded dialogue on the blimp and what they used. They've told our line producer that most crews tap into the system because the motors are so loud. A search of this board revealed a discussion about helicopter intercoms but I don't know if it applys. As a back up I could use a lav in the ear cup as mentioned in that thread.

I also see that Remote Audio makes adaptor cables but I don't want to buy one for this one time use. Since I'll be in Pasadena I could also rent something out there. Just not sure what to get yet.

Thanks for any help!

Bernie

Got some info from the blimp folks. They provide a cable tapped into the intercom system that terminates in an xlr. Don't know if its mic or line level. They have so many crews shooting in the blimp they provide the feed. Well tell more when I see it in person. Glad I don't have to provide a cable anyway!

Best,

Bernie

The Goodyear Blimp I was in a few years ago simply had 1/4 jacks for their headphones.

(I believe a separate input for the mic)

Quite a few of them spread over the small cabin.

I just used a 1/4 to xlr cable and it worked fine.

(best pic I could find in my archive of pics just now of the jacks)
