Hi all Am experimenting with extending range and limiting interference (You've heard this one before) and am getting improved results as time passes. Am running SD 688 with SL6 a PSC SIx pack. 5x Wisycom MCR 42's a PSC RF Multi SMA Splitter and a pair of Wisycom LNNA active antennae. My question is is can 2 x Lectrosonics PF 25 be installed between the active antennae and the PSC RF splitter? Ihave tried but only get a decrease in range. Am I approaching this the wrong way? thanks Gareth

I am asking the community if anyone here has worked for Peter Greenberg/Check Six Productions and has issues getting paid and/or has a way to reach them. The finance person is Andrea Pennywell, producer was Darra Stone and the tech person was Mike Worrall. Last September I did podcast audio for Peter Greenberg when he was in town. Got the billing info from the producer, keep contacting them and up until late January I could communicate with the finance person in his office. Now they just won't return phone or emails. All they said is we will look into it. Better yet if someone has Peter's direct phone or email. Not the ones on the website. …

Jason Snell has written a good article regarding the growth of Apple and the expectations for the company. Regarding the centerpiece of the article, MobileMe, quoting: "It makes you wonder: why did Apple decide to launch a brand-new phone, a major software update, the iPhone App Store, and a new Web service, all on the same day? I suppose the company thought it would make a big splash, and it did—but it was caused by a belly flop." READ THE ARTICLE Regards, Jeff Wexler

Rada boss and Imogen Stubbs say language is being mangled in bid to imitate American film stars – and audiences are being let down Dalya Alberge, Saturday 22 June 2013 12.26 BST Too many actors mumble their way through their lines, neither enunciating nor projecting words clearly enough for audiences to understand them, according to leading figures in theatre. Edward Kemp, artistic director of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (Rada) and actress Imogen Stubbs are infuriated by the mutterers, who they believe let down playwrights and audiences. Kemp said that some directors and producers encouraged mumbling, believing that "laidback mumbling is more truthful". …

What's the "norm" for tech scouts for features? I've just been told that my wanting to scout locations and have meetings with other departments three weeks before the shoot is not the "norm" and that I was being too agressive in asking for a scout "so early" and "it does not make sense to me" - this is a co-producer on the feature.

Hi guys, Working on a discovery series and I've got my guys on cl-wifi's inputting subjects names on the ISo tracks of our 788's in the field so the loggers and editors don't have to relabel everything in the stack but avid doesn't seem to be able to transfer those to sessions in post. They come up in the bins but not on the timeline. Has anyone else come up against this.? I was convinced that this would have been a simple step.

Hi everyone, you may or may not have noticed I've been doing some updating of the FreqFinder Android app. After one or two emails about an update not working I decided to take advantage of Google's relatively new Beta program. I'd like to invite anyone who wishes to participate by joining this Google Group: https://groups.google.com/d/forum/new-endian-android-beta-testing The main mechanism here is that I can release updates and then those who chose to update to the beta version can and those who may be using FreqFinder more actively can wait until it has been more user tested. Also, it should allow users to roll back to the stable release version if there is a p…

New to Jwsound and making a move to Nashville. Any insight on which blocks are useable in Nashville? Wondering if you can get away with using a sliver of B25. I’ve heard some areas will have a sliver of B25 open even though it’s not for use.

My friend, Phil Jeffries, is giving a concert on Saturday evening in Beverly Hills. He performs in the style of Frank Sinatra with a small band. He'll be performing in the Civic Center Plaza as part of the Summer Nights in the Plaza Concert Series. He wants to record this concert. He'll also have a few people running about with video cameras to film it. I originally agreed to record it for him as a favor. Now, I find that a last minute work assignment (they are so few and far between these days) precludes my being able to help him. Is there anyone out there who would be willing to step in and help? Although I was going to work without pay, I believe Phil could find …
