Last minute job in Bulgaria and no time to rent specifics, so I'm travelling with UK channel 69 and 38 radios. Anyone used them there with any success or trouble? Thank you. Damien

I discovered a great feature of the 788t when I was testing an ifb today. I have one of my outputs for my utility PL routed to x2 mix with all inputs including mine set on postfade. I was playing back the L mix track and not hearing anything in the ifb. I realized that if I want video village to only hear the live mix, and nor hear the playback, all I need to do is re-route the output going to the comtek xmitter to an output (like x1) . This is very useful if you have to review your tracks regularly. Just FYI

Hi, I'll be coming to both New York and Los Angeles to film two episodes of a documentary series (for Finnish television) and I was wondering if I could use my 31 block radios there? I have a Lectro SRa receiver in my camera slot in block 24, which propably should be ok? But I might also need two extra wireless mics and those sets are in block 31. I also have acces to block 33 Lectro 500's but no other blocks. Any chance of survival? And Senator, I'm already aware that "it depends". Real world expieriences regarding those blocks would be great!

I'm working a reality show and we had three 788T's w/ CL-8 all in bags with six UCR411a's in each bag. Each bag has BDS w/ two NP-1's. I'd say that's a pretty good load in a bag.. Now that the show got picked up, we have Cantar X2's replacing SD, and two more UCR's for each bag. I'm a smaller framed guy and this is a motherload in a bag for me, even using my Versaflex harness. I'm wondering if the Cantar upgrade was worth it since we're just running 8x 411's in every bag(wireless boom w/416's). It wasn't my first time working with the Cantar, but my first time working with it in a bag. I must say I think it's just a bit too big for me to feel comfortab…

Hi, Wondering if anyone here knows (or can check with a video assist guy) about streaming a video assist feed. It doesn't need to be better than Skype or video conference. Producers in writers' office want to be able to see costumes/hair/etc. Don't need a smooth stream all the time. Looking for a box that'll accept NTSC composite video in (and audio too) with 3G service.

sitting here playing around with a Lectro 411 and a Sound Devices 552 mixer. (both new to me) Mixer is set for mic level input. Lectro 411 has output settings from -50 to +5 dp. Is there a recomended output selection on the 411 that works best with a mic input selection on a 552? Or have mixer set for line level input and have output level of 411 set a +4db ? Thanks

This is a little video I worked on 2 weeks ago...CS3e-302-Edirol R-09, shot on 5D, synced with handclaps I think it sounds pretty good considering we submitted the raw files to the editor on Thursday morning and had the final cut on Friday morning. http://www.b-insider.com/2011/topshop-topman-the-launch/

Anyone got a couple of these they want to get rid of? I've tried some (not all!) dealers and they're not so easy to find. If anyone has any they're not using I'd be happy to pay a fair price for them.

Hey guys, I've landed my first movie and I'm pretty excited. I'm now in need of a duplex cable and wanted to know what suggestions/experiences you all may have with the different available models. The PSC? The Remote Audio? Problems? Ease of use for the boom operator? Durablity? Noise? I read up a little here and there, looking for a previous thread..but didn't see much. And I'd never try to manufacture one like Jeff did, so don't suggest that. Rachel

hey guys, so i bought a cl-wifi when it first came out with the hopes of running it as an eternal metering system and information view for my machine. the wi-fi lag is proving to be kind of annoying and since i don't have or want an ipad, i'm stuck using my cellphone as my meter. does anyone know if sound devices plans on just making an external meter/screen for the 788 that would just plug right into the machine, no idevice required? maybe some bindable buttons on the side? you know, like this thing: http://www.sounddevices.com/products/pix.htm thanks, joe

Has anyone tried these? I'm happy with the iPower 520mah 9v batteries, but seeing that these Ultralasts are 1600mah, it would seem that they should potentially last a whole production day in a Lectro Tx...? http://www.amazon.com/Ultralast-Rechargeable-Batteries-Recharges-Professional/dp/B005SZYECM

I was sure I read a post some time ago about L-series batteries, maybe it was on RAMPS, but couldn't find anything here through a search here. Anyway, I need to replace my Sony (7.2/4600) battery that I have sitting flush in my 788. It has always underwhelmed me, may have been a dud from the start. There seem to be a lot to choose from so I thought i'd see what others are using and happy with. Thanks!

Just to have a general idea...they don't have these harnesses in stock around here so maybe if you use one you could tell me if a size "2" would fit me: 5'11'' 200 pounds. There's 3 sizes from what I understand: 1: large / 2: normal / 3: small ? thanks

Im doing a reality gig tomorrow where we are following a police officer who will be doing target shooting on a shooting range. I'm a bit hesitant to lav this officer since I fear a gun going off 50 cm from the lav might crack its membrane. Am I correct in this or am I just being overly cautious? Anybody got experience in similar situations? The lavs will be DPA 4060. They are quoted to have "134 dB SPL max". Does that mean before they distort or before they start to take damage?

hi all http://philipbloom.net/2011/10/18/1dx/ "it will also support two methods of SMPTE-compliant timecode embedding, Rec Run and Free Run." wonder if it can be used to slave my 744t ? or if it will make an other methode possible of getting accurate TC into the video track cheers Martijn

I was working on a very humid set yesterday, with 3 actors, director and 5 crew crammed in a room about 10 x 10 with furniture etc (standard drill for low budg drama). Camera was the Epic, and as you might expect it was "panting" quite loudly (yes, the actors noticed) when we weren't rolling (and still pretty loud when we were). At one roll I noticed a new noise, previously masked by the Epic hurricane, my CS3e was making the low grumble that says it's not happy about the ambient moisture. I couldn't get out of the room to get another mic (slider rig blocked door, kid actor on the edge of non-cooperation, behind schedule--you know the drill), so I toughed that take out …

Have my Fusion fed by a Cooper 208 and listening via the return-in. I use an output of the Fusion but I can´t route disk-tracks to output only inputs to output. This way I am listening to signals even if I haven´t armed the tracks. Would like a "what you hear is what you get" situation. Any solutions? Matthias

Since there are occasionally very old (20+ years) Schoeps mics for sale (like here), I was wondering if anybody has experienced difference in the sound quality. Things like noise and high frequency behavior. One time I heard an older Schoeps hypercardiod and I had the idea it was a bit 'dull' sounding.

Hi All Has any one had any luck getting a lav mic to work with any recorder that puts out plug in power; hopefully a Countryman B3 and Zoom H1? or Lectro M152? I want to avoid using an external phantom power unit....

Hi everybody. I work with VDB boom pole and MKH 50, as you may know, together with great sound I sometimes get handling noise and recently I thought about putting some material over the part of the boom where I hold it, to reduce the noise that mostly comes from shacking muscles. Does anyone know what kind of material is best?

Im currently on a show in which one of our 788T's is not creating a new daily folder. We have the file structure set to MID LEVEL, but it wont create a new folder. It is #2 in a chain of 4 units linked via c link. 24/48K 29.97 NDF. All the machines are set to the same settings. Firmware 2.15 Any ideas? Rob
