I am wonderin if anyone has experience altering the Lectrosonics 201 receivers, so they can be used with the rack/antenna setup, by cutting the fixed antennas and attaching a BNC connector at the base.

I was recently told by Ricsonix that they no longer are making the button mic. But he told me that RODE is coming out with a pin mic. Anyone heard of this as of yet?

I've been using AA rechargeable batteries for some time now. Mixed results with different manufacturers, but my 'go to' has been the Ansmann 2850 mAh AA battery purchased through Thomas Distributing. My last order of batteries was less than stellar in their performance, with several of the 16 I bought not holding a charge at all. Lectro transmitters going to red immediately after power up. I am giving a look at my charger as well, a PowerMax version that I see many others use. My question is this... What version and manufacture are you having good luck with? Thanks. P

Hi. I just bought a bunch of cables that I asked to be line level, and they're marked as line level, but when I connect them from mix out to TX (for camera hop), I have to switch the mix out to -10 (not line) because at line level, when I send tone, the tx's get a signal somewhere b/n-10 to 0 (two green lights) at their lowest setting. This seems too hot to me. I like to send tone (on 552 set at 0dbu, because that's 1/2 way) and set tx at just a single green light coming on (-20dbu). With tone from mixer, when the mix out is padded/set to "-10", smqv audio level is 25, um400 is b/n 2&3 (just before 10:o'clock) These cables are: 1 set - xlr mix out to ta5 in …

Can one of these camera's sync the other's timecode? I've been told that the 900 TC fr is 23.98 and the 2700 TC fr is 29.98, so they cannot sync. I've tried to do it in free run (with a bnc), to no avial. I've also tried to use an smbt and external clock, but I couldn't get one of them (I now forget which one) to synch. Has anybody done this from one camera to the other with a simple bnc? Or, if you've done this with a lockit box or smbt, or smart slate, what was the frame rate that worked? Thanks. Jcc

Anyone have any leads on a right angle d-sub connector? This would be for the Fusion 10 analog out, so of course the pin-outs would have to be correct. I had pro-sound order one of the ones Zaxcom makes, but where the cable exits the connector - there is a long piece of shrink wrap that makes it impossible for me to fit it in a bag. In fact, it seems the only was I can fit it in the Porta-Brace A0-4 would be if the cables exited the right side of the connector. Thanks for any thoughts or leads! -Greg-

Hey Gang, I'm a new Fusion user and have been digging into the menus and trying to wrap my head around the machine...quite excited so far. That said - there are a couple things that I wish were different and wonder if any Fusion/Deva users can chime in on: EQ - why is it so hard to adjust this damn thing!? The only way to work quickly with it is if you use presets...which is unfortunate but I suppose ok. One would think that with a touch screen interface it would be great to adjust the settings, but instead you have to dial in numbers on the keypad (is this any different with the mix12 - does that speed it up at all?). I imagine I'll be using this functionality …

Was just thinking about a different recording approach for in the bag. It'd be great if Sound Devices or anyone else would come out with a really simple, line input only, multitrack recorder with time code and dc power. The absence of mic preamps would make it a less costly recorder I would think. A good mixer with direct outs like the 552 or 442 would be a great front end for that type of unit. Granted its not as elegant a solution as a 788t or Fusion but would work with what many of us already own. Thoughts? Bernie

Want to rent a Nagra III to use in picture for a Film Shoot This Monday 1/17 in Los Angeles. Must be able to play a tape. Recording is not nec. If it has the old leather case too, that would be great. I will make sure it is treated well. And that you are properly compensated. Thanks, Mark Weingarten. (323) 839-7550.

SD CL9 ? 1 2 3

I am starting to see a few SD CL9s going up for sale, here and on E-bay. I contacted a few sellers and was told they did not meet their needs? Do the CL9s have any issues or are people using the CL8s instead? Would like to hear any opinions please. I think the 9 would be easier to use on a cart with sliders rather than knobs. thanks all , Thinking of upgrading from a 442 and 702t to the 788t Later Tom

Since it's begin of the year, I am looking for upgrading my old lectrosonic 401 + UM400 + B3 countryman. Thinking of buying another set of lectrosonic 411 + UM 400, but with a function of IFB, I wanna put Zaxcom in my consideration as well. Have anyone used Zaxcom wireless set with the IFB function ? I am thinking if I get this set, I can also use it as a camera hop, which with IFB return, I can completely monitor the audio by myself. Otherwise I have to always ask the cameraman " is everyting ok with the audio ?" What do you guys think ? Hiro

Does anyone know if the Rode Micon-5 adapter will work with lavs wired for Lectrosonics? In my case, specifically for lavs using the new "servo bias" wiring. Thanks, Tom

I was going to post this in line with the CL-9 discussion, but I figured that maybe it strayed too far off topic. In the CL-9 thread, Jason Fyrberg states: " I just want a fully stand alone console that also has the ability to mix to the virtual tracks of the recorder..." I have wondered to myself how difficult it would be for SD to implement code into a firmware revision that would give us access to tracks L&R via the AES inputs. I know that I would be willing to add another small A-D converter to my setup to get to 8 isos AND 2 mix tracks. I can only assume that there are Mixers out there who would like to continue using their preferred analogue (or digital)…

schoeps LC60

Hello, is anyone using the Schoeps LC60 active lowcut filters to help reduce boomhandling-noise and such? I have a CUT1 for my cmc541 that I rarely use, but I'm in need for a way to fight LF-handling noise when booming with my CCM 41/8 combo.. Untill now I have not been satisfied with the available shockmounts/suspensions (Cinela is much too expensive)..

I need some of these asap. Custom cable was built wrong and I need to find some of these connectors to re-solder the cable correctly. Now, the suck part is... I live in a city where 4-pin XLR is probably considered the Devil's work. Anyone know of any major chain/store that might carry such thing?.... radio shack? I'm trying to prevent a 6 hour round trip to LA for one simple connector.
