I am looking for a 25mm top collar for this vdB carbon fiber boompole. I have reached out to the manufacturer in Paris, but the technicians appear to be on vacation. In the meantime, I am looking for used parts from Rode, Ktek and the like.

Hi, does anyone have a comparison in battery consumption Sound devices 888 vs 688? I'm used to two 98Wh batteries being enough for the 688 per day. Looking at the specs, I get the impression that the 888 eats once that much, is that right? Thank you

Has anyone got a Stingray Large yet, with a 688 (and ideally SL-6) in it? Could you please post one or two pictures? Been spending days trying to source some, contacting both manufacturers and my local resellers, so far no luck...

I've been using my new 788T for a couple of days now on a new series. It's mounted in my cart, near my lectrosonics Venue system. Whenever i hit record on the 788T 2 of my wireless channels get interference. I haven't had much time to trouble shoot yet, but I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this and if they have any tips to try and solve the issue. I'll try physically moving the recorder further away from the Venue, but the cart is pretty tight and I'll probably only gain 4-5 inches more distance. Besides, the receivers antennas are about 4-5 feet above the cart. I heard the 744T used to have similar issues. Was the interference with the 744T frequency related ? …

Just got a mixpre for a light 4 channel package. 744t channel 3-4 level setup default 0db Mixpre limiter set to maximum +18. 744t overloads. What is a correct way of setting this? Reduce 744t input or decrease limiters threshold? I expected both units to work together since they are made by the same company. Are the levels mismatched? Thanks and sorry for the greenhorn question.

Hello, I just receive my first zaxcom system (QRX 100 and TRX 900 AA). I m an AUDIO LTD user since 10 years and I m happy to try new things. What are your favorites settings concerning the dynamic part, the expander part and the filter part of the TRX 900 (use with microphone)? I know it depends of the situation but I m sure that you have a basic set up. Thanks for your help. Olivier

I currently own to Comtek transmitter a BST75/216 base station and a portable M2 16 option seven. I would like to use the base station for my general Comtex feed and used it 216 for my boom up return. In the past I've used two portable transmitter in the same band and wasn't working. I'll many of you use this kind of set up and how successful is it working out for you? Is it possible to take the two outputs of the antenna combine them on the same antenna? Do I need physical separation in between the two transmitter, or physical separation of the antennas or simply separating the frequencies at the extremity of the frequency range? Thank you

I need a new 12VDC supply for when the cart is on a stage. Something like a Sony AC-500 would be good (well shielded for RF). Any other ideas? It doesn't have to be a battery charger or contain a battery, and doesn't need to make any voltages besides 13 V and change. Being somewhat weather proof would be a plus, but my old one wasn't and it worked for many years. 3-4 amps? Cheap is good. Sine wave and regulated is a must. I've seen the PSC "Power Station" and I think it is overkill for what I'm doing. Philip Perkins

Hi, from one day to another both my wireless keyboard stopped working on my 788t. The still work on all my other recorders. Wired keyboard does work without problems. There is also still 5v coming from the USB port of the 788t, I can charge my keyboard using the usb cable... What can the issue be? Any tips greatly appreciated. I would buy a wired micro keyboard, which is fine, but I guess they are not manufactured anymore... Sander den Broeder, Amsterdam.

Hi folks Anyone have any recommendations for rain protection when using an A10 TX on the pole? Haven't been able to find much apart from the Ambient QWB rain cover. This looks a bit big but maybe could work. Anyone using it? Thanks

although Capt. Cut 'n Paste missed this one: http://mixonline.com/mixline_live/klark-teknik-dn9696/ It is interesting to see a high end, 100% professional audio manufacturer with almost no ties to Production Sound, as we know it, offering a product that some of us might find useful. it is designed to compliment the SADiE workstations.

Anyone have any experience with this recorder? It seems without built-in mics, that it might concentrate more on the pre-amp and the recorder aspect of the unit. This is probably going to be used to gather "usable reference audio" for a shirtless moped rider talking with a passenger, being chased by the camera operator on rollerblades. I may or may not be able to stay in range for wireless reception, and there's plenty of room for the recorder under the seat and I might be able to hide a CUB on the handlebars. Robert

I am thinking of investing in some DPA 4063´s with the microdot connection. Yet I have heard that the adaptor DPA makes for Zaxcom (DAD3057) does not connect the shell to pin 1 like they are supposed to on Zaxcom transmitters. Is this true? or just a rumor? Any info will be appreciated.

Zaxcom uses Motorola BT100 batteries (Motorola PMNN4468 BT100) on some of their gear. I am looking to find alternative chargers to Motorola's "quirky" chargers. Does anybody make them? I know there are a few chargers from Sound Guys Solutions for other batteries but did not see any for BT100.

Lectrosonics SR/5P Receiver - A Second Look After The Updates Last week I received the updated SR/5P. The unit had two internal and one external hardware change and numerous updates to the operating system. Hardware Upgrades The first improvements were for two bugs. The first corrected the unit’s diversity and the second fixed the second channel’s battery display. One IMPORTANT note: Lectro tells me that because of the way the SR is designed, it is better to have the first channel be a LOWER frequency than the second channel for performance reasons. The obvious hardware upgrade is the 5P (external 5pin adapter) which allows the unit to work on camer…

Someone mentioned that he heard of a new box that is being released, and I've forgotten where he said he saw it. It sounds like a single channel recorder that you would plug the lav into, and then output the signal to the transmitter, so you would get a recording prior to the RF signal. Anybody know about this?

Hi folks, I'm new here. I found the site reading the "Nagra stories sound-men won't ever tell" thread and all of the wonderful information in that thread, so thought I would ask the experts about the Nagra ARES C-PP (the rack mount version of the C). I have an opportunity to acquire one fairly inexpensively (~$350USD) and could use a two-channel solid-state recorder for some of my transfer work. Please share your experiences with this piece of gear and your opinions regarding its value proposition at that price would be appreciated. -Steve

Would there be any issue with using a small microphone in a larger windshield. For example putting an MKH50 in a Rycote WS4 windshield which is designed for shotguns? Obviously the microphone will be further from the front of the windshield than the sides so would this have any negative effect from an acoustics point of view?
