Hey Sound Geeks, I'm unsure about the TRXLA2's power roll set up as I'm getting some readings on the screen that seem weird and aren't explained in the manual. I could do with some advise please. I thought the settings to use power roll from 25mw to 125mw should be: TX POWER set to 25MW and POWER ROLL set to record trigger. This would then boost the power to full from the dormant power setting (25mw) However, when power roll is set to on the TX POWER screen shows (50MW) underneath where the power setting shows 25MW. what does the power in brackets mean? Also, with the above settings, when i go into the power roll screen (which is set to record trigger) it momentari…

Hey, Does anyone know of a 48.048 AD interface? I looked at JoeCo, Motu, Apogee, etc. but can't seem to find one that'll do the needed sample rate. It's to go into a DEVA's digital inputs. Thanks, Tyler

I wanted to boot up my TRXs in remote standby. After manually exiting the remote standby mode (up+menu) the TRX will stay in stop and not recording?! Any ideas? Actually it would be helpful to have the option to put a TRX in remote standby manually. Cause normally I want the TRX transmit right away. Just every now and then I have to wire an actor long before set-time

I have been contemplating the purchase of a sound trailer and wanted to get some opinions as to their practicality. I would use it for features and presumably get a rental. I'm tired of being the "red headed stepchild" on the camera truck. And when we (sound and video) do get our own truck it's usually not outfitted properly and a pain to work out of. So a few questions for those of you with trailer experience if you please... 1) How receptive is production and transpo to the sound trailer solution and what type of rental rate can you get? Along the same line, does accommodating video help the sell to production and the rental rate? Were those of you with trailers eve…

Hello all, Forrest Forbes here. Some of you may know me from my 35 years servicing location sound gear as an employee of our local sound houses. I'm doing the same work now with my own company, Lightning Sound Repair in North Hollywood. In the course of this I have received a Nagra SNN for repair. I have most other Nagra service literature, but not this one, so I'm looking for a schematic for same (service manual would be ideal but schematic will do) Will purchase. P:lease call me for this or any other issue at (818) 239-2941 or email lightningsoundrepair@gmail.com. Thanks Forrest

Hello, after a bit of testing, doing and undoing, I finally found my way to use the Brahma and a workflow with it. I am quite happy with it and is always with me when travelling. Please read my experience in my paper about this microphone here: http://www.ecsound.net/pages/projects/tech_notes/engnotes.html Any feed back is welcome. Please keep in mind that english is not my first language, so I am sure that some of the reading will be hilarious for that. Again, feedbacks are welcome. Thanks.

I’ll keep it short – To those who have amassed a handy collection of adapters, how does Remote Audio’s Adapt-a-pak Pro Kit stack up? Would you use more than half of these adapter types regularly in, say, a year’s worth of work? To prevent any confusion, I’m not talking about the smaller Lite Kit.

Hi. I've just bought EBL's 9v batteries and charger that were recommended here a while ago. The charger only comes with an USB cable. Would it be ok to use a cellphone charger with it to plug it in an ordinary socket? Best, Rodrigo

Wanted to check in the wider world if anyone is experiencing this issue with their Zaxcom Stereoline transmitter. Occassionally when I power up the unit fails to power up - no little flashing LED - no signal transmitted. Turn the power off and on again (Hawkswoods adapter) and up it comes. I have spoken to friends and they report experiencing the same Any comments - Fixes? Thanks Chris B

Hello, I just bought COMTEK BST 75-216. My question: is it possible to power it up with from V-mount battery (14,4 V DC, same as on cameras) as I'm using on my cart? Has anyone been using it these way, without voltage adjuster? Thanks in advance!

I hope this isn't too basic a question but a search didn't reveal too much info on this subject so here it goes. These days I don't get out into the field much anymore but when I do I usually borough a co-workers kit. When I do I usually find out about what gear needs replacing due to age or defects of all kinds. I am talking about things that creep up on the daily user without them necessarily noticing. Example, I'm always shocked when I listen to our headphones of choice (Sony 7506) after they've been in use for a while. The low end on these seems to disappear and they start sounding rather tinny. So the other day I did a few sit-down interviews in a re…

Never had this problem before, any tips or advice if the battery door gets stuck? As you can see, even using a slotted screwdriver in one of the grooves seems insufficient... Please advise!

I am recording in 32 bit float on the zoom f6. I am recordig only the isolated tracks and I am using the mix for monitoring. Usually I set the recording levels first, then I push record and then I mix my channels for monitoring. But what happens if I find out that the input gain of a track is totally off? I know that I can correct it later on in 32 bit, but its anoing if you need to use PFL or want a good starting point in the editing room or you need to convert it for some reason later on.. Is it possible to adjust the Input of the isolated tracks while recording? The "Trim" setting for every channel is disabled in 32 bit mode so I can only set it before starting to…
