here is a clip of a show i just finished swinging on. hopefully its viewable outside the UK. the first part with the 'ladies' coming down the stairs was on radio mics (trx900 with cos11's) the rest of the scene was using a super CMIT. knowing the production schedule etc, i dont think much has been done to the sound beyond ensuring even levels between cuts. ive only listened on my laptop but it there is a difference in the ambience between the radios at the top and the rest of the scene.

I'm putting together a little expeditionary travel pack. I'm limited to 2 pieces of luggage. The case is nearly 40 pounds unloaded, so not exactly that useful in keeping the under 50 pound baggage limited (without extra fee), but will probably hand carry the expensive stuff with me anyways, so will be dummy loaded with some medical supplies and other light weight / low density odds and ends for the actual flight. http://pelican.com/0450/ I've arranged the foam so that antennas can be kept on the device, just grab and go. I figure it is less chance of things getting lost, quicker setup / wraps, and less wear and tear on the connections themselves. This sh…

i know I read about this before, but can't find it now. yes, I did a search and even waded through countless pages of nomad threads. no, I didn't HAT since I'm rolling all day and would like to spend my short lunch eating. LOL is there a way (other than routing an output back into the returns with a cable) to record a L/R mix internally yet? am I missing something or is that a planned feature? I would like to be able to change the pan on the fly and have that reflected in the recording. I'm running 2.81.

One of the features I really love for the 633 is the keyboard support. My buddy is using an RII mini. Does anyone know if this is possible on the Maxx?

So I knew that you could order PR-216’s in the TV5/6 band but apparently you can also get them in “72-76” to use that band as well with the better receiver performance of the PR-216. I’m not talking about the PR75a. Did anyone know this? None of this is on Comtek’s website but they confirmed the existence of this in an email to me the other day. What’s a little unclear still is if these work in narrowband or wideband or companded or not. https://www.adorama.com/ctpr216b7276.html

so what are you soundies using for storage of your antennas? i've got a small supply of rugged ziplock style bags that are 2.5" wide and 4" long but after about 6 months or so they start to blow out.

Hello, is it possible to use the new Lectrosonics L serie with sennheiser IEM 300 receivers? My idea is to use a Lectro L serie for hop to the master camera (TX and RX) and my old G3 recievers for secondary cams and IFB. It will be an improvement to have a diversity system, full quality link for the master cam. As I already own 5 IEM and G3 recievers, I don't want to buy full new systems. If I use the L series in analog mode, is it completely stupid?

Yet another shooter friend of mine looking to go one-man-band... needs a better onboard mic he can also use for interviews on a stand. I thought of the Rode NTG1--pretty cheap, decent, certainly better sounding than the Senn ME66. He won't go for the more expensive Rodes (or used 416 etc). I like the Oktava MC012 but think it is too susceptible to handling noise to be an onboard mic. Other ideas? Philip Perkins

Got this from a friend of mine who works at a large post house thought I would share: Some information regarding DVD archival I thought I would pass on, and hopefully pass onto others: As for as dual layer DVD+R DL media is concerned, the best, most reliable, and only true archival-quality media is Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL; that said, only seek the discs with "Made in Singapore" on the packaging, and when inserted into a drive and checked with an app such as Nero DiscSpeed, are denoted with a manufacturer ID: MKM 001 Many other brands (and even outsourced Verbatim), are made in Taiwan and India; the success rate of these are roughly 50% on a burn, if the complete …

Hey guys, I love my Cooper 106+1, but there is one thing that annoys me about it. Unlike the 208, the private line toggle is a momentary switch, not a button. The switch, unlike the other switches around it, needs to be pressed up instead of down. This is very awkward if you need to get to the PL quickly while mixing a take. It's also very easy (sad to say I've done it) to hit the oscillator at a very bad time if you're not careful. I was wondering if anyone here has ever modified their 106 with a button instead of a switch and if you had any advice for someone wanting to do that. I've measured the PL button mounting hole on a 208 and the mounting hole for …

Anyone using the Lectrosonics HMCVR Silicone Cover for the HMa Plug-On Transmitters? Just wondering if the transmitter with that cover on will still fit in my old portabrace velcro covers?

This is a "planning for the future" question about the Sound Devices 552 and its recorder's ability to take in timecode. It seems from the manual that the 552 needs a continuous time code signal going in in order to stamp the required data in the header of each recorded file. The manual also seems to be saying that when set up in a certain way the 552's recorder will use it's internal clock to timecode stamp the file with time-of-day. It it possible to jam the 552's internal clock to a timecode output signal and then detach the time code generator to jam, say, the camera? It seems like a work-around even though I'm sure there would be some drift amongst all the …

It seems that that is the menu selection... Playback out of all outputs. But in trying to get Playback audio out of X1 and X2, I can not do so... I can get it out of L and R XLRs, Headset output and X3 and X4, but in no way can I get it out of X1 and X2.. Am I demented?? maybe so.. Anybody want to chime in here... I normally send Audio to VTR on X1 and Transmitter for Dir. and such on X2.. I would love for playback to go out to Headsets on set through X2 as well... I would want to leave L and R XLRs open... Strange it says "Playback all outputs"... you would like to think that menu selection meant ALL outputs..

Who's using the Bebop Bag Sound Cart? Similar to Orcart, but a little different. Looks tougher. Also the trolly is removable which means you can replace it with bigger pneumatic wheels.

Hello everyone! On my next movie there will be a lot of phone calls inside a car. They go either to a normal phone or to the speakerphone of the car. Although most of the dialogue of the callers will be replaced by different actors in the end, I still need to be able to record the signal and send it to my ifbs. Is there a special piece of equipment I could use? Something to put between a headset and a cellphone to split the signal going in? My other thought would be to use a third phone and use a groupcall function but that would mean, that I will get the signal of both ends and I only want the one from the caller. Any ideas? Greetings and thanks in adva…

Now that the SD Noise Assist and Cedar plug-in have been available for a while, which one do people like more and why? And yes, I’m aware the best noise reduction is no noise reduction, but for live and super fast turn around projects I’ve found it rather helpful when used conservatively.

Hello everyone, I recently got a Sennheiser mkh416 and a classic softie to go with it. During my first test (indoor) I noticed that the softie (to my ears) considerably improves the directionality and generally the sound of the mic (if compared to the mic naked). This came as a surprise to me, as I originally thought that the softie would just block the wind and damp the highs a bit. Am I being fooled or are there actual sound improvements with the use of a windjammer? Thank you in advance for any clarification, Leonardo

Anyone using one, comments, thoughts etc? Looks like a good alternative until Zax bring out the TRX700 replacement (?) that has zaxnet control. You can find it here: http://www.areitec.fr/areitec-pico48-phantom-power-adaptor-zaxcom-wireless-produit-395.html Thanks, Chris.
