I've got some new Tram TR50 lavs that I've just started using with some older Lectrosonics Tx's and Rx's. They sounded fine (well... like every other Tram) when I was using them hardwired with the power supply. I've tried them a couple of times with my UM200C transmitters, and they are very noisy and require the gain on the transmitter to be turned up almost all the way to light the -20 LED. Are TR50's one of the mics that they changed the wiring scheme for servo-biased transmitters? And if so, how should they be wired to work with my older transmitters?

Just got a mixpre for a light 4 channel package. 744t channel 3-4 level setup default 0db Mixpre limiter set to maximum +18. 744t overloads. What is a correct way of setting this? Reduce 744t input or decrease limiters threshold? I expected both units to work together since they are made by the same company. Are the levels mismatched? Thanks and sorry for the greenhorn question.

Hi all, I can't find the complete description of the Deva's Hirose 10 pin connector: ground pins are not described. I used another cable I have as a reference (it uses pins 6, 8 and 9 for ground) and wired the new cable like this: OUT 5: pin 1 hot, pin 8 gnd OUT 6: pin 3 hot, pin 9 gnd But it does not work well: - OUT 5 has a lower than normal level and some "weak ground" noise (it goes away touching the Hirose conn. chassis) and I can hear the processor thru it (using the screen for example) - and OUT 6 has a higher than normal level. I can't use the other cable because it is wired for my sound cart (long wires, heavy, etc.) and I need the new cable to work…

I am thinking about wiring my pole with 5pin xlr so I can drop in my css5 in a ws4 when I need a quick run in stereo. Is there a ta5 to 3pin xlr jumper that I can switch when using mkh416? Or should I rewire my MKH 416 to 5 pin? I rather use jumper cable since I am about to get an extra shotgun mic. I think the stereo wired boom will safe on accessories I carry. I can have only one boom for both stereo and mono. Thanks P.S. Not to mention the money I will safe by not having 2 connboxes and 2 WS sytems

Hi all, just wondering how the CL-9 is performing for people on the real world. i've yet to see an actual user review (apart from all the good information provided at the time of it's launch). Just wondering if people are using them to mix drama and how they are getting on with them, pro's and con's etc. i have a drama gig coming up and i'm building a small cart, i'm interested in the Cl-9 because i don't have a mixer suitable for the cart and the Cl9 is attractive because i already use a 788t and it's low power consumption is a bonus. opinions and views as always much appreciated, cheers, Hugh.

I need to get a pair of wireless mic systems for basic ENG production. My budget is around $2,000. I'd love to get the Lectrosonics 400 series, but that's outside my budget. I've considered the Lectrosonics 100 series or maybe even the Sennheiser EW 100 series. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Hello everyone, I've been having some audio issues using my SR receiver and SMQVs as transmitters for a camera hop. To describe the noise I have been hearing on occasion, it seems to be a very high type of hiss that almost tends to "breathe" with dialogue. It only happens every now and then, for example it only happened on one or two takes out of one morning of shooting. It doesn't seem to happen when the audio is noticeably loud or soft but seems to follow the voice that is being captured. Here are thesettings I was using at the time: -------- 2 SMQVa Transmitters. The meters on the transmitters illuminate both LEDs green with highest peaks on the mixer causing…

I've never really understood 100% about the science of how electricity works when it comes to resistance and loads, so maybe one of you could help me determine how to be efficient with my NP1 power chain? I'm currently using two NP style NiMH batteries with these specs: Capacity: 50wh (13.2v, 3.8Ah)Size: 7.28 " x 2.83" x .98" Weight: 1.5 lbs. Nominal Runtime (25w load): 2hrs. I power x2 UCR-411's, SD-702T, PSC ProMix 6, distributed via Battery Bud. So far, this set-up works great and stable for a good 4-5 hours. I'm looking to now add in a Lectro SR receiver to the mix and would like to power it off of the same battery if possible, but I'm not sure how to det…

Apropos of recent posts about switching to NP-1s for powering a bag, here's another variation on a home-grown power harness, created for my son's bag. Goals were: modularity, powering the entire bag, hot-swappable batteries and flexibility in battery choice. After seeing various posts on globalmediapro v-lock batteries (Thanks, Oleg!) and looking at pics, we realized having an integral d-tap connector might make for a simple, fairly secure bag power connection. Turns out that two of their 95wh batts will fit comfortably in the back pocket of a Petrol PEGZ-2 bag. Not wanting to be completely locked in to the globalmedia batteries, we cannibalized an IDX a…

Hi, Does anyone know if there's such a thing as a right angle XLR adaptor, male to female? What I'm considering doing is using them on the end of a rented multicore, to plug into UCR411a receivers. I looked on the Neutrik website but couldn't see it. I must admit, in all my time in this industry, I've never seen such a beast but I thought in this day and age, everything must be available!! Thanks Peter Mega

How effective is it? I heard from one guy that the water ends up dripping down the front, and that could be a no-no (dripping into the frame!)... Any users with better experiences? warm regards -vin

This may be a long shot at getting some answers but I will ask anyway. My PD-6 does this weird anomaly where it drops the boom channel's level drastically sometimes after using the slate mic. It seem like that channel lost phantom power. I would have to unplug the boom cable, plug it back in, then the levels are back to normal. It occurs on a regular basis but does not happen every time. It is a very annoying issue. Have anyone experienced this?

Anyone got any comments on wiring a B6 for use with a UM400? The Countryman site suggests the use of a resistor in the TA5f, which if I have to do, takes it out of my limited soldering skill set, has anyone wired one without a resistor? Before I waste my time trying it, I'd appreciate anyones comments.

Anyone using one of these on the cart or elsewhere..? www.fit-pc.com I'm looking into ways of having an onboard set up to run wave agent and would also use it for occasional disc burns (via ext burner) and maybe a bit if net stuff but that's it. I would love to have some sort of mac equivalent as otherwise I am mac based but the mac mini is still power hungry and bigger etc. Weight, size and power use are important issues, even more so than pc vs mac in this case! Also if this was run using a touchscreen for basic operation does that pretty much negate the need of a mouse an keyboard for simple stuff? (I know I will need a keyboard for data entry etc but most…

Hi folks. I'm hoping to use my Lectro wireless, blocks 21 and 28, in London. I'm having difficulty finding any info on what might be on those blocks there. By what I can find, normal wireless blocks there are 30-33. Anyone have experience using our US blocks in Europe? Thanks, JP
