Has anyone had any issues with using the Ambient quick release system on cinella shock mounts? I only ask because of the closeness of the built in xlr out to the thread. Michael

Hey guys, so will be using my 552 to record audio for a 7D job this week. My question is: the SD 552 defaults to 30nd without a tc input from a sync box or the like..will this present any problems for post? I will be transferring files to a laptop when finished. Will have a standard slate on hand and will send audio to 7D input for edit. thanks

Anyone know of any problems using a UM100 TX with a UCR411 receiver? (Both block 21) The Lectro fact sheets aren't specific either way.

Alright, so I'm a newbie, and I'm curious if what I'm experiencing is ground noise. So my gear is setup as bag based with the following: -PSC Promix 6 -Tascam HD-P2 - 2 Lectro's 100 Series Receivers -The mixer and the recorder are powered by Remote Audio's BDS system (2nd revision) and I'm powering it via NP-1 batteries. The Lectro's are powered by 9 volts What's weird is that I can hear the loud humming noise in the mixer headphone, but not in the recorder, and the recordings themselves don't have any noisy humming in it. However, the noise issue seems to occur in the recordings when I use the two lectro's. Now if I just have one unit on, it picks up nice cle…

I'm wondering, has anyone travelling anywhere in the world ever not been able to find the few holes required? My Lectros are in 25 and 26, I've taken them to a few European countries, 7-8 states and across Canada. I've seen some very busy scans, but I've always been OK. Anyone ever have a bad experience?

Hey Gang, I just got the Fusion and I'm working with it on a reality series. We are using a script link receiver to feed timecode to my fusion. I haven't tested it out yet. I'm wondering with it set at record run, will is automatically go into record once it senses timecode? I know the 788 will. My other is question is, can mirroring be set so everytime I power up it will be in mirror mode? I power my fusion off when I can, it's a pain in the ass to have to turn on mirror mode everytime I power it up again.

Is the MKH50 less noisy than MKH416 P48. I bougth a MKH50 and test against my old 416. I found the 416 incredible noisy! Tell me what you experienced with these 2 great mics. Cheers.

I am considering buying a used TS3 Denecke Slate. It does not have the EL Backlight Display which illuminates scene, take and production section of the face plate. Is that something that I would miss? Andy

Can anyone recommend a specific clapper slate (non-timecode) to buy. I haven't used or needed one until now. I have a few projects coming up where one will be useful. I guess something that is not too large but not too small where the info is hard to read. Not sure what other considerations I should be thinking about. Thanks,Andy

Howdy Folks, I'm just trying to get a read on what other sound peeps are charging for Mp3 Time Code Transcriptions. I charge $75. If they want me to FTP them, I also am back on the clock when I get home to upload them (usually, another 45- 60 minutes). What's typical for you guys? I primarily work in New York or L.A. It may be a bit downmarket for most of you folks, but I am looking seriously at the Tascam DR680 for some of the work I do. Why? well, on Canon 5D (etc) shoots TC on the audio file is kind of irrelevant, TOD will do, the camera can't shoot for longer than 12 min (prosumer clocks will hold that long) and budgets are miniaturized. There are a few other drawbacks, but I'm looking forward to getting a file recorded on one in its BWF Poly mode to analyze. I did a lot of work on the HDp2 at one time (still have it for backup and 2nd machine) and I was pretty happy w/ it for the price. Philip Perkins

Which one, which one? I'm looking to add a small recorder to my kit for the odd SFX, wild line, VO, etc. There are a number of choices and I am curious what others are using. I think I lean towards one with XLRs. Also, the Marantz PMD660 uses CF cards which would make direct import into my 788T easier. Any thoughts? Bruce

I have been running couple of Lectro UCR211 Receivers in a bag with a PD-6. Whenever the PD-6 is on, and I do a scan on the Lectros, I get a tremendous amount of interference as opposed to having the PD-6 off. The receivers are on block 21. Is there anything I can do about this other than to move the receivers further away from the PD-6?

Hello, Can someone give me a good reason why I can't buy a Remote Audio cap for an NP-1 with a single 4-pin XLR, then split that off to power my 788T/CL8 and perhaps 3 or 4 Lectro receivers? I have an XLR4 splitter and an XLR to 4x Lectro and an XLR to Hirose already in my kit. When in a car, I use this configuration from my PSC Powerstation. I am considering buying 2 NP-1 batteries and a single bay charger, if such a beast exists. Robert

Was going to use my old ME66/K6 Rycote windjammer system for my new 416. Just too heavy and big. What would you guys suggest for a very good mount that will work for interior work and exterior with a Rycote softie? Also thanks for the the heads up post last week about the reduced price.

Is there a special process in order to rotate the XLR jacks on the 411 receivers, or is it as simple as loosening the set screw and rotating? Wanted to ask before I screw up some internals.

What I mean is some version of the Neutrik right angle adjustable XLR 3M that can have the strain relief come off the side OPPOSITE the 3-pin--not an angle but at 180 degrees to the standard (Switchcraft) orientation. The ones I have don't have a locking slot in that position, but that's the orientation I need. So far I haven't found any connectors that can work this way. Any suggestions of where to look would be appreciated. Philip Perkins
