With the STA??? two track adapter. Pros, cons? I get just enough calls that this recorder might fill the bill nicely, and not be the weight or costs of a 702T! Almost everything I do is with gear on my shoulder. I have a SQN 4Smini that is a very nice mixer and it would be paired with whatever I get. thanks to all... cleve

Hi all, I've just upgraded to Lectro, and I have the SRB rx with SREXT bottom plate, which means I can power up the RX with 6-18VDC I have a Talentcell recharg battery 12V that works fine with my F8, but for some reason it doesn't power up the receiver... I don't understand why. I have the right cable, since I've just bought it via pinknoise (DC lock for Lectro to DC) Any power solutions for this? It can be DC or 4-pin hirose, since I have that cable too. Thanks a lot

Title says it all. Started day 1 on a project and failed to realize I didn't have an NP battery in my Fusion. Power distribution brick kicked in the middle of a take (stupid mistake on my end...or rather 2nd stupid mistake) and the Zax went off. Put new batteries in place, turned it back on. Got a message saying the take was being restored, the file got mirrored and then back in action. Sweet. -Greg-

Hi guys. Just got my 411 and was testing out the difference between the 411 and my previous 211. I noticed the sound quality difference between 211 and 411. I do know that 211 is analog and 411 is digital. But I never owned a digital before so there's nothing that I can compare to. To me, 411 sounds a little more bassy and just slightly airy (and of course quieter) compared to 211. Both are using dpa 4061. So the end question is, does analog and digital make any difference to the sound quality (I do know that 211 sounds warmer) ? Or is it I am just over thinking?

Hey Guys, Got another question for you iphone/ipod owners. I'm doing some playback this month. I'm wondering is there any apps that I can play from my library on my ipod touch that gives me more control of the file. Like garage band or Protools. Get what I'm saying? Justan

I have a qrx235 with the qifb in block 21. Does anyone know if I were to serial link another qrx in a separate block to the one I have would the ifb option work for the second one? My guess is it would since zaxnet isn't block dependant but figured I'd ask before buying another.

I read a few time ago here on the forum that powering the ifb unit with separate source prevents that eeeeee noise in receivers in the bag. Now, how do you guys manage it? Another NP-1 sled ? Looking at NP-F style batteries which are smaller (thus lighter) with a battsled from Lectro would fit the bill except these batts give 7.2 volts and the ifb unit needs 8 to 18 volts to work... Some use a 9v batt shoe by any chance ? Any suggestion welcomed, as a confirmation that doing so, I'll be able to raise the power output from my IFB100 without noise problems. (of course, I know about Txs and Rxs proximity issue in a bag)

Hello, Lately looking regularly to the Sound Devices approved media list for 8 series I realized they have not changed it in a long while. There are many new brands and models on the market nowadays and I wonder if we could exchange on experiences with cards not listed there. I have been using Manfrotto pro V90 SD cards for 4k video camera (side job) for more than a year without a single hiccup. Now it is overkill for our SD recorders but I have not used them on set yet just... because they were not listed. I still have to find the time to do extensive test not on a job before writing a feedback here. Why would they not work? they are rated for a far more…

I'm sitting here trying to figure out why the newish Hollyland and DJI wireless systems provide both recording and transmitting simultaneously, while our wireless systems that cost thousands more are still held back by a 'Zaxcom patent'. Is it because they operate on the 2.4ghz spectrum? Zaxcom becoming lenient with lawsuits? DJI and Hollyland willing to fight off lawsuits to take market share? Don't see a ton of info on this so any thoughts are appreciated. From a biz perspective, wouldn't it be smarter for the pro level comapnies we use to provide more low cost prosumer options to keep market share? I have been hearing from too many producers and cam ops abo…

My trusty Pix is not so trusty anymore. Recently it craps out on recording after a minute or so, with a 'media too slow' warning. Also, sometimes it fails to mount the drive and a re-insertion is needed. That makes me believe the only thing wrong is the e-satap connection. Is it possible to clean those connectors?

I have some Sony lavs of the type that terminate in 3.5mm, with the screw-on lock to secure them to a transmitter's input, and I was wondering if anybody might know of some sort of adapter I could use to convert them in to XLR. I was originally planning to build my own adapters but I couldn't seem to find any threaded 3.5mm inline jacks, only panel-mount. If it's not locked down, I'm sure it would come unplugged every time an actor shifted or fidgeted or anything, which is obviously no good. Any ideas?

I don't use a venue...I'm trying to import scan data from my RF Explorer (windows 10). I'm using Wireless Designer with the latest firmware. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but I can't seem to see my imported scan results from RF Explorer. I suspect my export settings aren't correct in RF Explorer (perhaps WD needs a specific csv field separator?). As you can see in the WD screenshot, the start/end frequency is showing as "0". Or is it another setting? Thanks!

I'm looking to replace the bottom base connector on my K-Tek Avalon boom pole. I was wondering if this is just a Switchcraft B3M connector, or is it some modified version of it? The part was quoted at almost $100, whereas the B3M connector is $15 at any online electronics part store. Could I save the cash? Thanks!

Until now I was using the Ultrasync One splitter cable to feed LTC audio timecode to one track of my camera plus the sound from a scratch mic via its minijack-input. Heres the cable: https://www.timecodesystems.com/product/tcb-53-ultrasyncone-y-cable/ I realized that the LTC audio signal was way too loud and I cannot lower the volume on the USO, so there is audio bleeding to the audio track. As I need to solder new cables anyway (the get torn apart sometimes and are very expensive) I would like to add an attenuator (pad) for the USO-signal. I was thinking, maybe its possible to add just a small resistor inside the minijack, which is connected to the US…

A shooter friend of mine just bought himself a brace of Diety TC1s. His cameras are FX9 and A7 types, and he's been having pretty good luck with them on long-roll multicam shoots. The specs are impressive and the price is pretty darn low. Anyone adopted these? At $200 a pop or $550 for a 3-pack is there any point in getting into these re: rentals, since I'd guess serious shooters will just buy their own?
