Hello Jeff, I read your message on the Cinemasound website about usage and the future of the .ning site. I thought I would contact you to confirm your view that whilst people are joining there isn't much actual usage going on in 'Aussie Sound'. That said, I am quite surprised at the membership which has grown to 50 members and I was wondering if there is any possibility of migrating Aussie Sound into the current jwsound website. I think closing down Aussie Sound would be a pity and hope you might find some way of keeping it alive and functioning. I would also add that I have been quite busy with life and I have not had time to keep up with 'Aussie Sound' or the new '…

Kudos Jeff. I happened to catch this 1979 movie on TV last night and right in the beginning, prominently credits our friend Jeff. Great movie all around and the dialog was crystal clear. I'm curious what was used for mics, recorders, ect. I don't recall any good wireless around then, but I was in the music biz at that time. Do you have any production snapshots you can post?

Hi Jeff, might be just me but since 2 days the "dots" (on my iphone) in front of a topic with new posts are missing. Those made me jump right to the first unread post. Now I have to scroll through all the posts within a topic. Was there a update or something? Best, Matthias

Hi Jeff, I am using safari mobile browser on iPhone with 10.0.2 "New Content" is my go to link, but today had to scroll through a pile of photos, one at a time, that were added to gallery by nullsound. Each one appeared as a new topic. I don't recall additions to the gallery being on new content feed before. I'd prefer it wasn't. Not fun scrolling through photos on mobile device looking for new content. Thanks :-)

"Unread Content" seems to turn up increasing amount of stuff previously marked as read

Hi Jeff, So since the update last week, when I select "Mark site read," everything appears to be marked as read. Cool. But when I return to the site, some previously marked read topics show up when I select "Unread Content." And it seems like over the last day or so, an increasing number of read or marked-as-read topics show up when I select "Unread Content." Like just now something like a dozen topics from yesterday show up... Is there a setting change I need to make? Is there something else going on? Thanks!

Hi, Aologies if this has been brought up already. I've noticed this error message whenever I click on "View New Content" as a guest. [#10146] You do not have permission to use the search system. It only happens when I'm not logged in. The function works fine when I'm logged in. Its the same on 3 different computers and my iphone also. Sometimes, especially on my iphone, I dont always like to log in if I'm just having a quick check in of the forum. I find it quite painful logging in on my phone so I mostly browse as a guest on my phone. Has something changed? Can I use "View New Content" without logging in? Regards, Peter Mega

Dear Jeff, What about a google search box right on the site page? Do you think this is possible to integrate? It may facilitate better search facilities available straight away... -vin

I try to check daily on this board, and often I'm really interested in the trends of what's posted chronologically so I always check the recent posts list. Is there any way to list more on this list? Maybe last 50 posts or something? Dan Izen

Hi Jeff, I posted last Saturday in I think it was 'current' as I was looking for some help in the SF area that day. I got two replies, but they were too late. Might it be worth one new forum on the system, for things that are of an urgent/sos nature? Just a thought..... Kindest regards from Moss Landing, near monterey... off to SF tomorrow - what should I take my lovely wife to see? We have just Friday I believe.... Kindest, sb

The best thing so far for me with this move has been the improved look and feel when using the iPhone app that this site offers. On the old site, I had to use Safari, and it was difficult to view and navigate. This new site is great when using the iPhone, using the app(free) or Safari, which appears to be the same.

Hi This might be a rather stupid question.... but if there's an answer then it will make my time spent and the JW Forum even more fabulous. (BTW - thanks for putting on this great and generous forum. Much rather hang here than the alternative spaves) Is there a way when I open a topic that the messages are listed from oldest to newest, rather than newest to the original post? Thanks to everyone Chris B

Since I started to regularly read the topics on this site, I've been thinking about the occasional threads that ask very basic questions, mostly in the "general discussion" and "equipment" sections (as for instance the current ). There are often many members that are kind enough to give good and simple responses to them, but sometimes they are just told to read previous threads, and at other times they result in a bashing that ends up insulting both sides. I think the problem mainly lies in the fact that this is a site aimed at professionals, and that doesn't seem to reach all who visit it. Maybe there should be some information aimed at new and less experienced membe…

Just getting to know the new layout and begin to experiment with activity stream. There is an option to "load more" at the bottom of the stream, but once more topics are loaded it's my wish that the additional posts remain when I return by backing up from reading a post to the previous activity stream page. As it stands now, the newly-loaded content disappears and one has to re-load to continue browsing topics.

Jeff! I'm building a follow cart for a customer and he has asked for 2-4u drawers.I know you had shown interest in the Adam Hall ones and I just had two delivered. They are excellent and very light weight. They are shipped from Germany and now I've seen them I can thoroughly recommend them. I'll send photos of the cart when it's further on. Malcolm Davies. A.m.p.s.

Seems like this week I'm seeing way fewer posts on JWS. And it seems that when I click on "View New Content" in the upper-right of the main page, I don't always get all the new content. The problem might be "between seat and keyboard" as my IT friends say. But has anyone else felt that they aren't seeing all the new content on JWS during a daily (or 2X/day visit)? Or is it just a slow week on the board (and hopefully a busy work week for everyone)? Best -Jim

It would be nice if the members have a picture in their profile. If everyone had an avatar of some sort I could recognize more easily a comment that the individual posts. That would help me because I would recognize the name of the poster and the picture. Its fine to just have a pic up for a while and if you dont like it you can change it, but everyone should have a pic. I think That Jeff made this request a few months ago. thank you carry on

Any way to make that happen? When an individual is blocked, their words don't appear in the thread, but there's a place holder with the name and the capacity to show the post if I wish. Good. Still, all the words arrive in emails of threads I follow, and it would be nice if I could opt out of that. Thanks a lot, Jeff, for all you do for the sound community. -- Jan

Since upgrading my iPhone 5 to iOS7 I can no longer move back thru your pages -- can't slide them, can't even tap out of full-screen mode to access the bottom bar exposing options. All I've found is to go back to my home screen, slide away that instance, open a new instance, then drill back to where I had been. Is there a move I'm missing, or is this a known bug already logged? Thanks, Fred
