Hi Jeff, I am curious about your reasons for starting a new sound discussion group when there is RAMPS, CAS forum and the Recording Arts Forum. Are you allowing your "enemies" jand people know for flaming to join? Will you still post on RAMPS in the future now that you have your discussion group? I joined up as I have followed your comments on RAMPS and have found them to be very informative. I hope this group works out well for you. Mike Borlace

Don't know if it is just my coal-fired computer, or whether the trans Atlantic lines are playing up...but the site is VERY slow in loading each button press I make. All other web sites are OK. Nick.

HI Jeff, Saw that you did some upgrades to the board the other day. What happened to enclosed quotes from other messages? The new style, in my opinion makes messages harder to read because I have to try and figure out where the quote ends and the new comment begins. Thanks!

Jeff! I'm building a follow cart for a customer and he has asked for 2-4u drawers.I know you had shown interest in the Adam Hall ones and I just had two delivered. They are excellent and very light weight. They are shipped from Germany and now I've seen them I can thoroughly recommend them. I'll send photos of the cart when it's further on. Malcolm Davies. A.m.p.s.

Hi, I´m not sure if this has been mentioned but has someone found a way to post on jws with an ipad? No matter what I try jws won´t allow me to click and type in the text window. The subject field works fine but I can not activate typing mode when I click into the message body field. I´ve also tried to type a message via my regular mac which works fine but when I try the modify that message with my ipad I can´t get into the message body box. BTW: This works just fine on forums based on other software (vbulletin, phpbb etc.). Must be a combined ipad/jws bug. Thanks!

Not exactly a sound issue but the special effects coordinator on our show didn't come to work friday because he fell asleep at the wheel thursday and totalled his new F250 truck. The police said if it wasn't for the size of his truck and the airbags he wouldn't have made it. The Producer, who up to this point has been a very unpleasant person to the whole crew has offered free rooms to any crew who have a long drive home. I can't remember the # of stories like this I have heard over the years. Feel free to add yours. I'm sure there are many more.

This is a quote from post #6 in this thread: http://jwsoundgroup.net/index.php?/topic/28968-super-cmit-and-wireless-phase-issues/ So Jeff, what's up with that? User error, someone logging in as another user, someone with superuser/admin access run amok, an IPS bug? Anything we or you can do to avoid this sort of thing in the future? Or do I need (even more additional) enlightenment about something?

Transitioning my work computer to Windows 8, running Internet Explorer 10. I had no problem logging in, unlike reports with IE9. But, I am unable to use the ENTER button to put line feeds in postings (like this one). I have to copy/paste one from somewhere else... Installing Firefox soon anyways. ENTER button is definitely not broken, it works in all other browser forms, just not this forum.

Not sure if this is happening to anyone else, but lately when I peruse JWSound via Tapatalk, I am constantly redirected to the App Store, trying to get me to download some shitty game. It literally happens every minute. Super annoying! Is it a Tapatalk thing? A JWSound thing? An iPhone thing? Anyone know how to stop it from happening? Cheers, Jason

Hi Jeff, It used to be when I did a google search for anything on this site, it would return a ton of hits, which kept me busy reading for years on end. It was better than the native search engine. However, it doesn't seem to be the same lately and a topic that should return dozens of threads will return only one or two. Did something change? It may not have been recent, but I was curious. My string is normally something like: "whatever I am searching site: jwsoundgroup.net".

Hi, I've had a problem since a couple of month. When i try to log in it always says that my password is incorrect (although i know it's correct) and the only way to log in is to ask for a new password by clicking "forgot your password". I've tried to log out and log back in just after resetting my password but it doesn't work. I have to ask for a new one again. Is it a known problem and is there a fix? Thanks a lot and thanks for keeping this super useful forum running! Ben

My attempts to upload pictures on the new site continue to fail. Is there something different that I should do - that is, different than on the old site? Bob

Hi Jeff, based upon the conversation regarding the UK mixers and those of us located outside of LA, was curious if there was a feature like some of the Yahoo! groups have, where members can enter their geographical location on a map... so one could browse the membership directory geographically. May even be helpful for those looking for locals to crew projects, to see who is nearby without having to send out a broadcast message. Just curious if this feature was supported on your software... Thanks, Tom

I did a quick scan and I didn't see anything on this. Would it be possible to set up a newbie questions section on the forum? I seem to have a million questions and I don't really want to make several threads in general or equipment discussion. Just a thought. Thanks!

Hi Jeff, I've been debating whether or not to even bring this up, but it's been on my mind so I figure it must be somewhat important... at least to me, right? I had an abundance of posts from before the site got remodeled that seem to have been lost in the shuffle... it's not that big of a deal, except that I find myself wanting to go back from time to time to research a specific topic or thread to which I contributed, but the "posts" link under my profile only includes posts I've made since the site was remodeled. If there's no way to remedy this, then no worries -- I'll forget about it, but if I'm simply overlooking something, and there's a way to fin…

Often when I (in Sydney Australia) am looking at the main board & the latest posts with their posted time beside them. I often wonder what the current time is for Jeff Wexler Discussion Group central. Its a curious little infatuation with the knowledge of this aspect, that I have developed. Would it be difficult (or is anyone else interested) in this eventuating??? RS
