Some people have been talking about the 8060 and here is a sample that had me, unusually, visible for most of the entire time in the B cam shot. I'm not sure why she didn't frame myself and the A cam op out. Split mix with boom on left, you should download the file and mono / solo the left track for playback if you want to evaluate the mic. There is some handling noise, some movement / wind, especially at the beginning. I was forced to try to boom over the subject's left shoulder for the most part, so plenty of off-mic times too. Most of the subtle stuff happens at the end. For some reason I also forgot my coiled cable for boom and my gloves that AM, so had a retard…

I decided to adapt/adopt, the ergonomics of working out of a bag to the small cart configuration. I don't want to wear it, just have a means to transport it. I can also leap off of this and into a car/rig situation, without to much trouble.

Jeff has a gallery of carts in menu, under "gallery", but it might be cool to post photos here too. reason being that you can edit your comments and change your phots as your cart changes. I have a cart in gallery from 2008 (1st photo). Very different from my cart now (3rd photo). Biggest changes are Mackie to Solice, Boom Recorder to 788T, dinosaur sits on added BST75-216, added another Venue, added 2 c-stand top sections to hold flags and a new antenna mast, and it's dirtier! And I found this grainy picture (night shoot) taken on my first feature, with DV824, modified 12v Mackie, one monitor, and laptop for fun. My cart has served me well!

From a David Byrne propaganda email (can't find this note on his website): London's tempo is 122.86 beats per minute. I brought along some field recording gear to use while I was staying in Artangel's lovely pod/room/boat—Room For London. I went out during the day and recorded sounds that I thought might be useful and evocative. It turned out that most of the sounds—even the church organ in Southwark Cathedral—seemed to converge around a common rhythm. I thought it might be interesting to post the various camera rigs we have come across in our daily travels. Well it looks like Payton Manning will become a Denver Bronco and I can't wait to do training camp this year for NFL Network. Should be a very interesting pre-season. But seeing how this is a image forum, I should post some images I gathered of Tebow's first training camp as a Denver Bronco after getting dafted in the Spring of 2010. Nice picture of Art Rochester (mixing, behind sound cart) and Michael Evje (long time retired) booming on Farewell to Manzanar, probably around 1975 or 1976. Art's cart is the Michael Evje designed upright-style cart that has inspired us all in building our sound carts. Also pictured is the custom "butterfly" windscreen, a windscreen fashioned from acoustifoam and nothing else, usually constructed for each job (since it never really held itself together for long).
