So I was recently admitted into the hospital for a week (in the beginning of December) because I had an abscess on my hand that turned out to be a staph infection (the bacteria was the MRSA strain.) Doc said I could have picked it up from anywhere because staph bacteria are EVERYWHERE. This is a picture of my hand after they opened it up in the ER and drained out the blood and puss that had filled my hand (the white tail is sterile packing.) Every day, 4 times a day, they had to remove the packing, clean it out and repack it. Most pain I've ever felt in my life. Very scary at the time, but am back on my feet now. So remember, WASH YOUR HANDS often (or sanitize.)

I'd like to share with you my soundcart in the making. EMS-flightcases (ABS material, like SKB) should carry my 788t, CL9, Senn.G2 IEM, Video-monitor in the upper case, the lower case has two 3he lockable drawers for stuff like radio-mikes, lavs, extra boommic, accesories etc.. I build this cart with having in mind the wireless receivers outside the cart, to be placed near the filmset. Forgive me for the low quality cellphone-pic. Hope you like it, Diego

Hello sound community, I am in desperate need of a good quality still image of the legendary Sony ECM-50 lavaliere for my documentary. As incredible as this may sound, I have not been able to find one decent still (big or good enough) on any of the mic sites (Coutant, Madooma, Old-Mics, etc.), or even on Google Images. Well, here it is. Been working on this for a while - and actually, this is version 2. V1 also had an additional 8 RU SKB case, and I was using a laptop instead of the mini - I'll add that image later. The set-up: Multiple Lectro receivers with a wideband multicoupler, AD 147 mixer, Motu 828 and mac mini w/ boom recorder gets the direct outs and mix from the board, the mix and aux outs go up to the 744t (my deliverable), TC from 744t goes down to the 828 and actually mults on the side of the case so jamming slates is easy, apogee mix pre gives me 2 more inputs into the 828. Wordclock can come from either the 744 or the apogee (my tests indicate a 3 frame slip ov…

Thought this may be of interest to the group. This was a backpack sound cart that I used in Puerto Rico. It is a combo backpack frame, hand truck and projector stand. It was built and designed by "Peco" Louise Landrau. He worked with me as Utility in PR. Peco and his uncle built the cart to work in the rainforest, beach and other locations when a rolling cart is not practical. 1 slightly used follow cart.. only been on 6 shoots, with slight tree damage.. The offending branch is in the background.. Its been raiding continuously for 3 days and the branch gave way. This is the aftermath with the main cart under the tarp. The branch missed the main cart by inches, crushed 2 KD pushup tents and nearly killed 6. Thankfully no one was hurt and the main cart only has a damaged handle and bnc socket where the video cable to split monitor (that was resting on the case end of the follow cart) sorry rob, she served me well for those few shoots, and protected my mics. I guess ill be in touch about another one soon PS if this dosnt work…

This is for crew C : In my twisted pair, I mean mind, I came up with an idea for a short video yesterday afternoon. I wanted to use the motion control head that I build for my DSLR, I wanted to do a long slow panning shot with a fixed object always in the foreground for the whole shot. The garden gnome would work but he needed a special effect for the shot. Once that was in place, the music track came to mind. I had to cut 1:min 30:sec. out of the track (Three Edits) to make it work. I shot it late afternoon so the sun was back lighting my scene and worked nicely on the effect.
