I'm sure most of us have seen one of these in their travels. I saw my first one about 15 years ago on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, the familiar pine with green paddles. I saw them in Germany 2 years ago, but this reminds me that they are all over the world: http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2010-01-07/this-is-not-a-tree/?cid=bsa:topnav:artb#gallery=1182;page=1 I must admit I've never seen one with street lights attached to it.

Here's a picture of the filter system we built to further improve wireless range. Custom filter, then a very clean amp, then isolated distribution. It helps. -Eric

This was put together for a small job and hard to get at location. Didn't need radio mic's for this job, but they could have been mounted on this Milwaukee dolly also. Worked well on this rainy & muddy shoot.

My SR arrived yesterday. Very happy with the performance so far, and the size is amazing. It's wearing the SREXT plate in the photo:

So you hear the director yell "Jets!" - This is because one actor said to another actor after the first few takes, "What's our cue to look up at the jets?" Ummm... perhaps when the JETS fly 150 feet over your heads! I their defense, we shot this a few days earlier without the jets because of bad weather, and they were all given a cue to look together. But without being told what to do... kinda reminds me of this great clip from "Extras". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43sbtkQM6zc

Hello. I'm Philippe Vandendriessche, from the french speaking part of Belgium. I plan to send you some photographs of my sound cart. I ordered some transformations and the cart is actually in Paris. You can have a look at the builder website here: http://www.camagrip.fr/Produits/Detail%20roulante%20VDD.htm and also the cart "on the set" inside an interview about my work here (french speaking): http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x8k7tm_ingenieur-son-philippe-vandendriess_shortfilms I work with Cantar + Cantarem. The cart enters in 4 pieces in the trunk of my Saab 93 "Sports Hatch" car. The current transformations are a new shelf for the receivers an…

For some reason I don't like working with small cameras... it just doesn't feel right to me. I decided to even things up a little on my last shoot. 6 months shooting around the tropical islands of the Great Barrier Reef has come to the end. It was certainly one of the more interesting and challenging shoots I've done. Ever had to record a VO in the middle of nowhere? I just had to do it... regardless of the environment. No options. That's how we roll in the doco world I guess

I finally got round to taking a few decent pictures of my cart. Here we go : Thats my cart all closed up and ready to roll around on set. On this angle you can see the top road case with front doors closed. Thats where all the gear is located. Below is a drawer that can slide forward. You can also see one of the removeable hooks that are at the back, as well as the antenna poles (manfrotto light stand centre piece) that are retracted, next to the boompoles. Here she is with the doors open to reveal the gear protected inside. you can also see the antenna poles extended (not fully extended for this picture, but they can reach up to 7-8 feet.) I had a…

Thought I would post a pic of the bag I've been using on a IMAX film for the last 8 months. I switched back and forth from a Fusion 12 and Deva 5.8 (no reason). I was using a mix of TRX900 AA's and TRX 900's with Sennheiser MKE-1's along with (2) TRX 992's with DPA's 4017. An IFB 100 for my send to my guy's on the 992's and to control all of the TX levels (love that feature!). Used a Lectrosonics LMA for my send to Directors/Producers and (2) BDS units to power everything. Everything worked great, but I can't wait to get back to my cart. Happy holidays! we've been shooting in a mall for the past couple of weeks, so being surrounded by christmas musak, decorations and even passing Santa everyday, inspired me to string up some Christmas lights on the cart. Never too early for Christmas cheer !

My run and gun on the slower draw is really working. Can just unstrap the bag and walk away. Have so many points to hang and strap. I cut the height down last month to be able to transport it upright in a van. This was a three camera, 2 talking heads shoot. Audio feed to all 3 cameras. A little lite rain at times.

Here's my built for speed cart. PC Pipe to protect booms with a handy fold down workspace. The mic case fits under the fold down and I keep the battery case hooked below that. All gear is in tool boxes that can slide out for easy access. It's fast, relatively light and fit's perfectly in the back of my Rav 4. It's narrow enough that I can get through any door and can be collapsed and moving in about a minute. I call it the swamp runner because my last few gigs have been in deep swamp/marsh, poison ivy infested South Louisiana joy.. The rain tarp is stored in one of the cases, just in case... Mark L

A few photo's of my cart built from "ITEM" "MB" extrusion. It was built in late 2006 and features parts from Roadmaster - a local case manufacturer who suppled the aluminium panels, Skyway Tuff wheels, cable hooks, boom holders and cup holder from Rob Stalder and Middle Atlantic UCP connector panels. I must get around to labeling the connector panel.... David Madigan

Just out of curiosity is anyone using an AV cart as a sound cart? I found one for a good price and was considering buying it. But just out of curiosity is there anyone else using one? If so mind posting pictures of how you have everything setup on yours? Thanks in advance. Nicole

So we got ourselves a driver about 4 weeks into the film. Military supplied Toyota Hilux. Our driver is Otto. His truck has many bullet holes in it, some of which are viewable here.

I accidentally posted this in the Equipment forum before noticing that there was one dedicated for images, deleted and moved here... I do really small jobs and needed a setup that lends itself nicely to transition from cart to shoulder. I could not afford a really nice cart, and because I have limited room in my vehicle, needed something compact and storable in small sections. I can fit this in my Volvo with the baby seats still strapped in and half of the seventh row folded down. It is from a company called Schneller Manufacturing and are based out of Florida. They make shooting stools for competitive high power rifle shooters. I used to shoot M14 and got the i…
