We are honored and excited to be part of the launch of the new Frame.io Camera to Cloud Integration. The service was announced this week, rolling out in March. This the first, and unquestionably not the last, of this type of system allowing for automated transfer of sound files directly from a recorder to post production. Take a look at their system - https://www.frame.io/c2c More on this to come.

We have worked a long time on this project and are pleased to offer CEDAR noise reduction on the 8-Series. This is another available option, along with our own internally developed NoiseAssist, for realtime noise suppression. These processes take advantage of the enormous computational power in the 8-Series. https://www.sounddevices.com/sound-devices-and-cedar-audio-ltd-announce-cedar-sdnx-for-8-series/

Hi there ! I get allot of questions can you make a charge peli ? Well the answer is usually ... i dont know depending on the chargers, i bet i can but i am not looking forward to make a charge case with 5 different chargers in there that are not at all made to be used into a case.... like no mounting options, rounded off and they all have there own separate power brick. i dont blame the producers i make chargers that are standalone to. But i thought many times, it would be so nice if all chargers had a sort of old mixer frame. with a front panel that can drop into a rectangular hole to make a case that houses all chargers and be fed with one power supply lead. …

Hello everyone, some already might know from Sound Summit 2020 and have waited ever since for us to release our brand new boom pole range, the Quickpole Series 5. So, today is the day and I need to express how proud we are what our "team boom" achieved once more by going above and beyond leaving the treaded path. Building our booms to last, we understand most of you already owning an Ambient Quickpole presumably will not be in straight need for a new boom. Still, you might want to check it out: https://quickpole.ambient.de/

Hi everybody, Ambient has recently kicked off a campaign to extend the application of our trusted NanoLockit beyond the use as a timecode synchronizer. This exciting feature will allow you to read out a log file of button presses and use them as markers, cue points, you name it using an additional panel for Adobe Premiere (the platform in use for most of the productions it is targeted at). We had this spinning in our heads for quite a while and actually the reason the Nano shipped with 3 buttons and a lanyard since day one. Now that we finally found opportunity to evaluate it's usefulness it on our own productions in house there is no way for us to keep th…

I wanted to take a second and share what I've been up to during the shutdown. Thinking about how things were going to change as productions started back up during a pandemic, I began working on a new software service with a partner to help support productions get back to work remotely. The service is called SetStream. https://setstream.io We are a cloud based streaming service that enables productions to stream from set to clients in real time (averaging 200ms delay world wide). Being a web browser based solution, anyone who has been granted access to log on by the project manager, can watch and collaborate from any device (Mac, Windows, iOS, An…

Dear Cinela users, we really hope you are safe in this hard period ! For those who are in front of the virus during shootings, here is a simple advice for disinfection: Simplest way: leave your units in quarantine ! two or three days may be enough. Furs and fabrics: as heat is NOT acceptable (it can damage piles or synthetic fibers), a good solution is simply to wash it with a generous load of soap or washing powder in lukewarm water. The virus is known to "slide" in soapy water, then you hardly rinse the unit after washing ! Don't dry it with a hair dryer, except with a low temperature one. Generally, a full drying night is enough. Abo…

The full Lectro crew is back at work in Rio Rancho, NM with masks, distancing and gallons of sanitizer. That includes service, engineering, sales, shipping, production, etc. Gordon is the only crew member who may be still at home, trying to safely resettle a mom cat and her 5 kittens that have made an inaccessible den out of his outdoor kiva/waterfall. Gordon says he will price the kittens very reasonably. Any color as long as it is gray and white Best Regards, Larry Fisher

My SD Pix 240 has trouble (nothing physical), and went to the local agency / dealer / importer. They can't fix it, so it has to go to the mothership. I'm told that it will cost at least 800 euros to fix it. Seems a big steep IMHO... Opinions?
