Have you ever been in a situation on set where you were holding a boom pole and wished you had an extra hand? Maybe you were mixing and booming and needed to adjust levels? Maybe you have to follow along in the script while booming and need to turn the page? Or maybe you've just finished a long take and you want to give your arms a break without fully collapsing the boom pole? While we can't actually give you a third hand, the Boomhanger gets pretty darn close. Made from sturdy ABS plastic, the Boomhanger clips to the straps of your sound bag harness to give you a convenient place to mount your boom pole and control it with only one arm. Even fully extended, the Boom…

We are starting to include 25 mg (tiny amount) of silver conductive paste in a teensy vial, with all SM series transmitters. This is to be used on the thumbscrew for the battery cover plate. We have been applying a 1 mg (very tiny) speck of this silver conductive paste to all SM's manufactured in the past year. The reason for the conductive paste is to reduce the slight voltage drop between the thumbscrew threads and the case threads. As this drop is reduced, less battery power is used to overcome this drop and more is available to power the transmitter. As the thumbscrew is loosened and tightened while replacing batteries, the silver in the paste is forced into the micro…

UPDATE: Ecto Plates now in stock and available for immediate purchase!!! Thanks to all for their wonderful support! https://www.backpackrig.com/ectoplate/ Hello Lovely JWsound community! My name is Jordan Levie and, in addition to being a local NYC camera assistant, I am the owner and operator of backpackrig.com a small upstart camera support accessories company. We started with a backpack rig for handheld shooting, but just this week we've released a new accessory mounting product that I think will be very appealing to the cinema sound department. Fred from New Zealand has just designed & had made a new 2 part cover for his VK cart. It allows the modules to be separated with the cover on. What can I say - this cover easily upstages the cart it was made for - congratulations Fred. While you are admiring the cover, take a look at his backyard - envy. envy.envy. Rob Stalder

Hi, first time posting here. I´m a swedish sound engineer for post and location. I´ve got swedish clients in London who records a podcast that I´m mixing. Their recordings are disastrous when it comes to sound quality, so I´m heading over to London within the next weeks to go through their equipment, and maybe buy them a new hard disc recorder and possibly new head mics. I´m leaning against good quality headmics, to ensure that the mic placement is somewhere nearly accurate. So, where´s the best place for shopping such things in London, that keep things in stock? And maybe someone has a suggestion on brand of head mics? I´…

Like to introduce our new cart... Have 8 of these available from next week. Two wheel options. More at http://www.rastorder.../product_mb.htm Would also like to explain a bit more about it's concept. The Mb cart is not designed to work in front of like a drama cart. It is designed to work over the top of, with the mixer bag in much the same position as it is when its around your neck or in a harness. So you can boom & reach down to mix at the same time. Sure it has a boom pole holder on the back - but more importently it has one on the front - where you can (with a Toolflex holder) easily & safely rest your boom while you fiddle. Cable hanging i…

K-Tek has been hard at work on a bag for the Sound Devices MixPre-3 and MixPre-6. True to K-Tek fashion, this isn't just a regular ol' bag. This thing is very well thought out, as it has multiple uses depending on the type of work you are doing.
