Hello everyone, I would like to spend this opportunity to tell you about the new version of Boom Recorder. This new version of Boom Recorder now handles 64 channels, instead of the previous 32 channels. Although most people doing feature film work would probably not need 64 channels, it seems to be that for recording concerts this is quite useful. This change did come at a cost, instead of using only 200 MB it now uses around 400 MB of memory. I know that many people here already have a lot of memory in their computer, so I hope this is not a problem. Cheers, Take Vos

This Board has been established for any and all individuals who, by reason of affiliation or ownership of companies, have encountered difficulties posting to discussion groups and Usenet newsgroups. It is open as well to any and all of those individuals who have NOT had difficulties but would like to post things here. This Board is open to all postings of any kind, either under the banner of a company (an equipment manufacturer, a dealer, a rental house) or as an individual who may be associated with a company. The only restriction I will mention at the outset is that this is not the place for companies to use for free advertising as would be appropriate on a company run …

LOOK AT LAST POST FOR THE CURRENT Versions ! Hi, well after making my WX-Np50 Bulk charger Here. i made a new one on some request. I've completed a few, a few months ago but never had the time to post anything about it. Its a travel version. even smaller then the already "smallest Np50 Bulk charger" that was/is available. It lacks the golden ratio in dimensions (witch bothers me) but if size counts? this is it!. I also implemented a switch (suggested by Constantin) to be able to reset the charging off all batteries or just turn it off. It is a switch with protection so you wont be turning it of by accident. (you have to pull and switch). The f…

well I never thought I would be posting in this section of JWSound, but i had an idea almost 2 years ago and here is the result of months of tinkering, prototyping and field testing. May I present the Soundbag Dashboard Some of you may remember the pictures I posted in the "show me your bag" thread, of the one-off wireless bracket I designed for my own personal use. After posting it up I received quite a few emails asking if i had any others for sale or if I could make any others for people. Since the first one I made was done by hand and took quite a while to make, I decided to look in to improving the design and seeing if manufacturing might be feasible. And voi…

As some of you are already aware Orca Bags debuted our new line of audio bags and harness at NAB this year. We got a very positive response to our products and lots of good feedback at the show. We are currently incorporating that feedback and suggestions into our audio bags to make them even better and more tailored to you, the end user. The Orca sound bags are like no other bag that you have seen. The Orca offers maximum protection for your gear inside thanks to our extremely durable and lightweight aluminum and honeycomb frame. Added to that is an ethylene-vinyl acetate interior and layers of foam lined with ultra-soft blue brushed polyester. The frame was specific…

I would like to please gather your input in a brainstorming frenzy! Portabrace haven't made too many significant changes to their AO-Organizer series of bags, with the recent AO-633 being an exception. It's been a project I've wanted to dive into and get started for a while, as I'd like to improve the bag line for all its users, including myself. After attending NAB this year, I was really encouraged by the feedback I got from users. So I am now making sure that Portabrace's "Audio Department"... Me. Discuss suggestions about product development and modifications. What better place to research those changes than here! Below is the current list of intended mod…

So now that you all have seen what SD has been up to, let me show you what we've been up to. We saw a need to fill a gap in the audio bag world. We wanted to build a bag for the SD 633 and Zaxcom MAXX. We wanted to build something that would meet your requirements. So we did. Below are some preliminary pictures of a bag that will work with both of these machines. But it's more than just a bag. You see, I've been reading what you all have been saying about what you want from a bag, and I have been talking with some of you. You want a bag that can stand up on its own. You want a dedicated space for an NP-1 battery. You want to be able to run cables easi…

From Sonosax, Sonosax SX-R4+ and Sonosax SX-AD8+ soon unveiled. Although these new equipments were announced for the end of 2014, they will not be available before April 2015. Innovative ideas having occurred during the year, their development have been somewhat delayed. Develop products of the highest quality using advanced technology and respond closer to the user's needs is a challenge SONOSAX has successfully met many times in the past; releasing these equipments on the market within the expected deadline is by far not always obvious. Despite these delays, we are pleased to announce that the new recorder SONOSAX SX-R4+ and the 8 channels preamp SONOSAX SX-AD8+…

I have edited this entry based on feedback from Glenn and Howie at Zaxcom. Specifically I have removed quotes from a memo considered confidential between Zaxcom and their dealers, as well as some corrections to some of Cory's feature depictions. My changes are indicated by [brackets]. To The Jwsound Community: Glenn Sanders hand delivered our first shipping Nomad to Gotham earlier today, but it was somewhat of a mixed blessing. We knew that not all of the recorder's advertised features were completed, but our request to Glenn that Zaxcom openly show on their website the specific features that were missing (and their anticipated implementation dates) were met with …

Rastorder is attempting to design and supply covers for our carts. We had a meeting with a motor trimmer today and a prototype is in the wings. We will start with the Foldup cart and depending on how it goes, we will cover the other carts. I need a bit of help here. I would like to keep it simple. I would like to know whether it should come as one unit or have a separate section for the top lift off half shelf. I would like to know what access is required. If you own a Rastorder Foldup cart - think you might own one one day - or just want to give us your 2 cents worth. Could you please help with pictures and/or comments. Any info gained here might relate to…

Like to introduce our new cart... Have 8 of these available from next week. Two wheel options. More at http://www.rastorder.../product_mb.htm Would also like to explain a bit more about it's concept. The Mb cart is not designed to work in front of like a drama cart. It is designed to work over the top of, with the mixer bag in much the same position as it is when its around your neck or in a harness. So you can boom & reach down to mix at the same time. Sure it has a boom pole holder on the back - but more importently it has one on the front - where you can (with a Toolflex holder) easily & safely rest your boom while you fiddle. Cable hanging i…
