I know very few details. It's 4 months. Paid? Maybe. How much? Don't know. If you don't know the show, it's months at sea chasing whaling ships with the Sea Shephard organization. It's perilous and intense. I'll try to find out more soon.

The reason I want to leave my country is economic. With little words to I have describe the situations is "unemployment", "very low - no pay", "low workflow" and the money for pay bills and other thing is not enough. So that's why I want to leave my country. I love my country and I love to work in my country but the situations is not easy for that. I don't want to be weight for other country. That's for sure. Hello Everyone! I'm Kevin and I'm new here. I've been reading this site like a novel. I love this place. Big thanks to JW for creating this site!! So basically I'm looking for work on better projects than I have been working on. My goal is to get on something with a real budget and respect for the sound dept. I'm in SoCal but will travel anywhere. I will boom or do utility for any of you vets out there who may need an extra guy. A mentor is really what I am looking for I think. I have…

Hi everyone, I need a sound recordist for a 3 week shoot in Idyllwild, CA from October 2 - 22nd. (with 3-4 days off in-between). This is for an ultra low budget sci-fi thriller (Signs meets war of the world). You would have to be comfortable staying at the cabin location with me and the cast (about 5 people total). This will not be a grueling schedule, there will be a lot of time inbetween to relax and unwind. Most of the intense filming will be done on weekends while 2 child actors are present. Pay: $175 / day With the location and budget I know this is not the project for everyone and I would like to have a larger budget but it is what it is, everyone els…

I went to LACC's film program a few years ago and decided I wanted to do production sound. I got some gear and started 1manning low/no budget productions as I transitioned from my 9-5 job. I quit my day job in 2008 and been doing production sound since. I'm Victor, Vic, Victor P. Bouzi on IMDB. Based in Los Angeles but able to work as a local in NYC. My ultimate goal is be a production sound mixer for long form big budget narratives, these production are all Union. I don't have any experience working on union sound teams, I'd like to get that production experience but don't know how. I know how to get gigs on CL and Mandy.com but those gigs don't help me get to …

Greetings fellow adepts, while this job offer is way below the going rate for experienced sound peeps, it may be appropriate for other noobs like myself who run a modest, 2-channel, basic ENG style kit with 2 or 3 wires and a boom. It was forwarded to me by recent graduates of the New York Film Academy in Universal City: The shoot is four weeks, 10/22-11/20, with 5 or 6 days shooting per week. They want 2 wires minimum, preferably 3, and are offering a flat rate of 4k plus an Associate Producer credit. They have (2) B-list actors signed on, and distribution for whatever thats worth. PM me if you have something online I can send the Producer to, or your contact…

One of the first things I think I need to get into is money. They aren’t going to teach you the real money side of the production world in tech school. The conservatory, Full Sail or wherever…They aren’t going to get into the survival side of it. I spent most of my career broke. It creates a strain on your mind, your wallet and your family. Just want to share a few things I should have learned in the early days. First. Figure out what you want to do. Why are you in this business anyway? Whether you are a road warrior, veteran tech who has sold his soul to a large manufacturer, or teenage church sound volunteer—why? What provoked you to take on an insane career choice …

I saw this post today on CL, and I just can't understand why one would have such a combative attitude from the get go... "No-I am not looking for a company from out of state to come in. No, do not bs me about what I need as I have produced a weekly tv show before. I was doing tv and radio while you were in junior high. I need a crew to shoot this reality show pilot in HD and possibly 3D. Some cash paid but I know you need this gig on your resume. If I cannot find you in Charlotte, I will bring in from another city close by. This is 13 weeks of shows so make some cash and gain experience. I need a good post production person also. Let me know what you have done. If yo…

Hello all, I am an Orlando sound mixer and have been working in Florida since 1995. I have recently upgraded my ENG package to a Zaxcom Nomad 10 package. I have a pretty decent package to accommodate a wide variety of productions. Pretty much trying to network any work so I can pay for all the money I spent on it. I work great with any kind of crew and I have many people in the Orlando market that can vouch for my work experience and work ethic. Would love to work outside of Florida as well, if the stars align right (It's difficult to do jobs outside of Florida when they want to pay as a local. But, how do the other guys do it?). I'm also open to work with another sou…
