Hello All, I'm starting a feature in LA on Monday. My boom op had to fly home for family emergency and she's going to miss the first day of production. The rate is $175. Shooting in Long Beach at a stage. I hate to show up here with a low paying gig, but perhaps this would be a good opportunity for somebody new-ish. Students or recent grads welcome. I'm always interested in meeting new folks, so if you've got the day free and you'd like to help a brother out - drop me a line. stephennelson384 at gmail.com This is me: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2052965/ Thanks!

I got a last minute call for a gig in Miami. I can't take it so I told the producer that I'd post here for him. He told me that it's this week 12th through the 15th, 12 hr days. Promotional video with interviews, indoor and outdoor locations. He needs 2 wireless and boom. He's looking for someone in Miami. They will be shooting with 5d's. Here's his info: Lindsey Ward (808) 756-1828 linzeye@gmail.com lindseywardproductions.com I'm not sure what he's paying, but he's saving the money to fly me out from LA so, he's more flexible. Hope it works out. Thanks

I'm wondering if anyone in Los Angeles is looking for a Boom Op or P.A. to work with? I'm currently learning the craft through reading and some low budget mixing jobs. However, I would really love to work/learn alongside a professional team. I'm hard worker, I follow direction and I don't complain. (Perhaps Mike Miramontes will vouch for me) I understand that this community isn't necessarily fond of "new guys", but if someone gives me chance, I promise you won't be let down. Thanks for your time. I hope to hear from anyone. =) -Brian Saude

I need help filling a smaller sound gig since I am out of the state. Here are the specs: Location is LA Valley (Sepulveda Dam). Concept is basically: teams of people travel the US in 18 wheeler trucks selling things. Whoever sells the most stuff and makes the most money wins $1m. For the Sizzle reel, we've got 6 trucks - want to shoot them driving around (ramped, dramatic shots) the dam area + ominous hero shots of the contestants standing in front of them. Plus, some simple SOTs (standard boastful things like, "there's no way I'm going to lose / I'm the best salesman on the planet." Plan to have two crews shooting Epic cameras - one handheld & sticks - t…

This goes out to American and European mixers, although European ones might find the trip easier. This is a VERY low budget horror shoot in the country of Georgia. One of the RED owners from the movie I did a little over a year ago contacted me because he was having trouble registering on this forum. Please do not shoot the messenger... US$6,000 all in (I expect this is cash) + travel + hotel + per diem of some sort. 15 shooting days in one location with 4 actors. I expect you will need to have a package which can travel with you on a plane. The Georgians are a different bunch, and this is a different country, but it is unique and amazing and if travel is…

Hey all, Please excuse me as I did not know where this post should go. I'm an active user of this awesome forum and I know it's not a rental site, nor is it primarily a buy/sell site. I'm not looking to rent a camera through this site, but I am producing a short film in the tri-state area in January that requires 1-2 Ikonoskop A-Cam dII cameras. Has anyone ever worked with these cameras before in the tri-state area and would anyone who has feel comfortable giving me the contact info of the owner? They don't have them at any of the big rental houses and I don't know anyone who owns one personally but the DP and Director have decided they must have 2 of these so I'm…

I'm relativly new to production sound. I've been an audio engineer on music projects for 15 years (I'm 34 years old). Over that time, I developed an interest in production sound for film. 3 years ago I started doing some PA work just to get on sets and learn about the process of filmmaking. I did PA work on the set of "NYPD Blue" and Food Networks "Everyday Italian." Eventually, with the help of a friend at the Endeavor Agency, I landed the oddball job of "Video Game Coordinator" on a movie Adam Sandler produced called "Grandma's Boy." On this job I met Sound Mixer Mark Ulano and he took the time to talk to me and answer my questions. It was really nice to find someone …

(Just posted this in "Equipment" forum, but then realized it might be more suitable here. Apologies for the double post...) Hey all, I'm doing a shoot at the moment in San Francisco, Discovery Channel build show a' la Mythbusters, and am researching underwater camera gear and operators in the SF Bay area. We're shooting on Sony PDW-F350 HD XDCam, but I'm thinking it might be tricky and expensive to find underwater housings for these units. Format is PAL HD 1080i. If anyone out there can point me in the right direction I would be forever grateful, I'm not from The US so don't know many locals, or where to start. Cheers, Jason

This is a show produced and delivered by my son's company Beaudry Film Works Inc. for ESPNU. I'm the audio supervisor for the show and am charged with finding good sound people to work the shoots when I can't. Road Trip goes to major college football games and is a fun look at the campus, the students, and what goes on before and during the big game. Some of you have worked the show before and I hope you enjoyed it. The first three locations are scheduled so I thought I'd get a jump on the crewing now. These are three days of shooting, Thursday through Saturday. August 30, 31, Sept. 1. This is Michigan vs Alabama at Cowboy Stadium in Dallas Texas. Sept. …

So my mom started working for an airline as sort of a post-retirement job. It is nice for her because she can fly here to NYC and visit me, and my sister and my nephew. But it is also awesome for me, because I can fly where ever Jetblue flies for free. The caveat is that I fly stand-by, so I don't always have a guaranteed seat. So you can see the potential problems in a time sensitive business. The question is, is this something I should advertise to potential employers? It is not like telling them your gear list, is it? Plus, there is the fact that I would be using a perk of my mom's employment for my own benefit. Is that ok? Anyone else have this situation?

Hi Everyone, Wondering if someone can recommend a soundman in Delhi, India? Project is a simple one or two day shoot in Delhi for a documentary on Tuberculosis. Dates: February 23rd & 25th. Talking head interviews with doctors and some B-Roll shooting at medical clinics (all appropriate safety precautions will of course be followed/supplied/taken for all filming of TB patients). The soundman will be working with the producer and cameraman (3-person team). The doc is being shot with two 5Ds (all sound must be captured to soundman's recorder). Unfortunately the Delhi dates were slightly pushed and I'm unavailable to finish the job (I'm their …
