Hi All, I'm a location sound mixer based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I currently work on a Zaxcom Nova mixer with two MRX-414 wireless modules for a total of 8 channels of wireless audio in a compact and lightweight mixer. I use Schoeps and Sennheiser interior / exterior boom mics... also sennheiser MKE2 lavs. I love working on short films and feature films. We have a timecode based workflow for upto six synced cameras. Also a Denecke digital slate and Comtek audio distribution on set. We also work in ProTools and have Isotope RX 10 Advanced plus Dolby Atmos surround sound renderer. We love fixing audio issues for the local film community... which we often do to help out…

Hi all! Checking in to see if there are any local ENG audio mixers or anyone who would be willing to work as a local in the FRESNO area for a HGTV shoot. 3/12-3/13. Using HDX900 and mixing (tether) directly into camera from 3 channel mixer (ie SD 302). Thanks!

This is a lower budget gig mostly because it is a unscripted but cart based reality type show, so what I know of the gig, you would just be getting what you can when you can with the boom, but from what I know for a lot of it I'll be relying on wireless. No need for gear you'll have a full Zaxcom wireless boom and IFB, with a variety of good K-Tek booms and Schoeps/Sanken/Sennheiser mics at your disposal. Rate is going to be like $200 a day. Only hiring local peeps. If anyone knows someone who might want to do this sort of thing, feel free to have them send me email: tmaudioproductions@gmail.com Tim

Seahawks All Access is looking to hire local soundies for Seahawks road dates this season. The season is already underway, and therefore this is late notice. This show just got picked up right at the end of preseason. Heck, I was just notified early last week that they wanted my help. Anywho... The shoot is for a TV show called Seahawks All Access. You would be working with an ENG photographer who will supply you with a Lectrosonics smqv transmitter to provide a wireless hop from your boom kit to the camera for a single system shoot with their Sony PDW-700 being the recorder. The gig is covering pregame team warmups, bench/sideli…

Low budget film writer and Producer Daryl Wein was interviewed by Peter Caranicas in Variety yesterday and had a telling quote when asked how he was able to produce a feature film for $15,000. "We had other crew members also working for free," Wein said. "Alex's girlfriend at the time assisted camera … we got two people off Craigslist who worked for the love of film, and our actors all worked for the lowest possible SAG rate of $120 a day." Thesps included legit vets Peter Friedman, Andrea Martin and Julie White. So where did the $15,000 go? "Toward food, and to our sound mixer," Wein said. "It's really tough to get a good sound mixer." Read the full article her…

It is not firm yet but will be either September 10th and 11th, or 11th and 12th. it has not been locked down yet. Both days in Los Angeles somewhere. Please PM me if you are interested and might be available those days.

Greetings Everyone, My name is Todd Reckson and I am reaching out to fellow mixers to find new ways to increase my client base. I am an NYU Film alumni and have been mixing (on and off) for many years interspersed with other production roles. Whether working on features, videos, corporate material or student films I always try to be a source of calm. It would be a pleasure to meet some fellow mixers in SFLA, perhaps we can help each other out or a very least get to know one another. I am based in West Palm but will work anywhere, anytime. If you have a moment please take a look at my site and give me some feedback. www.recksonproductions.com If you are inclined…

Saw this, and posting in case someone is interested: " Hello, I'm seeking a small production crew of two people, someone for sound (w/equipment) and a camera operator (w/equipment). I'm shooting a 30 sec commercial for a contest, so the shoot will only take an afternoon. My budget is very small, but I can pay $40 plus gas for your trouble. I'm planning on shooting November 6th. Please email back if this interests you and the kind of sound or camera gear you own. Thanks! "

Hello all, A British company I have worked with for years who film theatre shows and musicals for online promotion need a NYC local Recordist on Sunday the 22nd and Tuesday 24th November on Broadway. The Sunday will be about three hours 'work' as it will be just taking a feed from the desk to get the LR music feed from a live show. The Tuesday will be four scenes from the show, theatre crew doing the micing and FOH desk work. No orchestra that day so playback of the Sunday recording and recording the desk feed of performance dialogue and singing whilst it's filmed, probably a couple of runs on each scene. Supply a nice stereo mix of the two together for immedi…

Hello, Everyone!!! My name is Scott Harnell and I'm in the beginning stages of a career in production sound for film and television. I've been doing my homework (read Location Audio Simplified and Location Sound Bible, as well as lots of posts on the JWSound forums) and have started slowly putting together my kit. Now, I'd really like to gather first-hand experience from a seasoned professional. So far, I've worked on two professional gigs. The first was the official webcast of the Formula Drift event at Road Atlanta last year and the second was a documentary on the Atlanta Police Department's first sketch artist. At the Formula Drift event, I helped load and unload …
