Anyone tried Movie Slate on IOS7 yet? Their site says they've been working on an IOS7 version all summer, but it doesn't seem to be out yet. I'm wondering if the current version works well on 7?

The Santa Monica Dispatch's Peggy Clifford attended yesterday's Santa Monica Planning Commission meeting and reports that Apple's new Third Street Promenade building was quickly approved, without even discussion. "The surprise was that the staff put the project on the Consent Calendar. I cannot remember any large, complex commercial project ever going on the Consent Calendar. Apple was the only item on last night’s Calendar. And, under the rules, the Consent Calendar is approved as a whole – unless someone wishes to pull at item for discussion". And in that crucial blink, the commissioners approved the Consent Calendar (aka Apple Glass House), and that was t…

It is well known now that the traditional method of scrolling in Lion will be REVERSED from the behavior we have all gotten accustomed to for probably the last 15 or 20 years of computer use. We can spend a lot of time debating the logic or philosophy behind the act of scrolling the contents of a window but it is clear that Apple has made a global decision that changes a lot of this thinking. from Macworld website: According to Apple, "When you scroll or swipe in Lion, content now moves in the same direction as your finger." In other words, drag two fingers downward on a MacBook's trackpad or Apple's Magic Trackpad — or spin your mouse's scroll wheel towards you…

I was in one of my local Radio Shack stores today (a "re-designed" one --- they've closed the others) and I saw the rather extensive and new display for Beats headphones, speakers and accessories. There were about 8 different styles you could try on and listen to program material ("music", maybe?) --- the interesting thing was, all the headphones were displayed on round mirrors, sort of like how you look at and shop for sunglasses. So, I guess a lot more goes into the buying decision than how do they sound. How do I look? Radio Shack display - Beats

So my wife wants a new laptop for Christmas. She has finally realized what pieces of crap each of her previous PC laptops have been, and since we are all Apple on everything including our phones, she wants a MacBook. But.... There are a couple of programs (including her software that runs her embroidery machine) that are Windows only. I downloaded a demo of Parallels on our iMac, but couldn't seem to make it work properly. Can someone suggest the best version of Windows and the best "parallel" software to run Windows programs on a new MacBook? Do I have to buy Windows AND the "parallel" software. Any suggestions about getting a full version of Windows inexpens…

I have a router/modem problem with our iMac which I just can't seem to shake. I will attempt to describe... When I open a page on Safari and do tasks, everything works fine until you stop using the computer for about five minutes. At this point Safari seems to freeze and won't do any tasks. It then tries to reload the page and comes up with a message that 'Safari cannot load page/contact server ect, ect'. If I turn Airport off and then on again, the page reloads and Safari works fine, until you leave it for about five minutes when the whole freezing thing repeats again. It seems as though the iMac goes offline or loses contact with the modem/router and w…

Hello, does anyone using the Ipad for backing up daily files? I will be using an Ipad as remote for the sound devices 688 on a feature, and I am looking for a solution to use the ipad to make my own files back up (from CF or SD card to HDD), to avoid bringing along my laptop computer. I am new to Apple world and just got my IPad. So far I figured it is not possible but decided to post the question just in case ;-) Thanks Fred

I just find this really funny --- Apple designs this amazing MacPro, new form factor (which people either love or hate whether they have had experience with it personally or not) and this company comes up with a way to rack mount it and add some expansion. Sonnet Announces Mac Pro 4U Rackmount Enclosure and Expansion Chassis Wednesday March 26, 2014 5:01 pm PDT by Jordan Golson Sonnet has announced a 4U rackmount enclosure and expansion chassis for the new Mac Pro, allowing users to horizontally mount their Mac Pro in a standard data center rack with PCIe expansion capabilities. How the iPod and Other Audio Devices Are Destroying Your Ears By Sara J. Martinez Damage from music is not always permanent, but some audiologists have seen mp3-inflicted issues so strong that hearing aids were needed Portable music players may be contributing to permanent hearing loss among many casual listeners, gradually leading to the inability to discern speech. An iPod's maximum volume is more than 10 times as loud as the recommended listening setting, audiologists say, and the sensory damage caused by prolonged listening is irreversible. Since the iPod was introduced in 2001, hearing loss has been an obvious problem among young patients of Brian Fli…

Is anyone out there using a netbook hackintosh for simple file management or non-critical playback? I recently got OSX running on a Dell Inspiron Mini 10v and so far it appears to work pretty well. A 10" laptop with 6-hour battery that fits on a cart nicely and can be found used for less than the price of a lavalier mic. Is this all too good to be true?

How about making my lightning cable actually lightening by making it plug into my currently unused and hyper speed thunderbolt port. at 10gbps theoretically I could sync my entire music library to my 64gb iPhone and iPad in approximately 30 seconds lol.

After an outcry from iPhone users that Apple is slowing down older iPhones to prolong battery life, the Verge is reporting: Apple says that batteries are “consumable components,” and is offering anyone with an iPhone 6 or later a battery replacement for $29 starting in late January through December 2018 — a discount of $50 from the usual replacement cost. Apple’s also promising to add features to iOS that provide more information about the battery health in early 2018, so that users are aware of when their batteries are no longer capable of supporting maximum phone performance. I'm wirelessly running a Brother MFC-J435 all in one printer on my iMac (OS 10.5.. I can print just fine, but I can't access any of the other functions on my computer (scanning, fax etc) because the Control Center (interface between the printer and the computer) won't load up. It's been this way since I got it. Just haven't needed the other functions till now. I reloaded the included software and got the latest firmware installed as well. I click on the Control Center icon and it just sits there. Tried all the other ways of opening as well. All the other included software opens just fine. Any thoughts? Bernie
