Hi Guys. I have the recommended Lemo FVB.00.303.NLA connector and need to make up an XLR (F) line level cable for my Zaxcom TRXLA3. Besides patience, anyone got some words of wisdom on how to do this. I'm assuming both resistors will be wired in the XLR as the lemo is too tiny. Also, how do you attach the screen to the Lemo connector body? Many thanks, Sebastian

Has anyone here tried this? I know some companies do this for you, but for me it would be way to expensive to send this abroad. So I'm courious to see if anyone has done this and wants to share their experience.

Maybe this is of interest for some here. Here is how I turned an ordinary Sennheiser G3 receiver to function as an IEM, have appropriate levels and have sound in both ears for around 30 bucks. TLTR Behringer P2 Hopefully it is interesting for anyone!

I have repaired/replaced sennheiser connectors for a friend of mine and i noticed a pattern of them all breaking in a similar spot - right at the base of the connector ground where the cylindrical piece above the ground breaks and spins freely, where the threaded ring sits. Hopefully this makes sense to someone. I though Switchcraft would be the best choice to avoid issues such as this, but maybe there is a better option? -Ken

Two years ago I build my own cart, based on a flightcase. I'm planning an upgrade: I want to install new big wheels and therefore I need new handles so I can carry it as a handtruck. The back of my cart has a rack profile where I would like to put these handles. Does anyone know where I can find handles - like the handles of a magliner - that fit a standard rack profile?

Thinking about adding a second battery connector so that I can hot swap batteries without bringing the bag down. I was considering using diodes to isolate the batteries, but I don't want the voltage drop that would bring. Do I even need isolation? I don't want to run both batteries at the same time, just connect a second then disconnect the first.

I recently started playing around with 3D printing, it's a useful hobby/tool. I don't need a custom XLR clamp, but it's nice to be able to make one 😂

Hi All, I want to make an dolly extension for my Beta cable system not including fan tail. OSC 8 on each end running from my 18" camera fan to drivers end of the dolly. Any suggestion on the "perfect" catch all length? Was thinking about 8' or 10' but thought I'd check with the communal knowledge base here for suggestion first. Thanks

Here's a couple of cart projects that may give you some ideas for your cart. I made a small folding table top for the top of the cart. It's a handy little space to put things while working on something or making adjustments. It sets up and folds away quickly. The table is made from some thin hardwood stock that is available online. The two pieces are held together by gluing sturdy fabric (duck cloth) on the back side. The supports are 3/4" aluminum stock that is bent around the antenna posts. Everything folds away when not in use. I like to drink coffee all day from a mug. These coffee cup holders from T-Nutz work well for mugs or tall drink holder…

I'm looking to replicate the RA 3.5mm found on the Senny HD 25 1-II cans. Although I would need a non-moulded variety. This is to replace the moulded straight jack which the HD26s came with. It still needs to have locking threads on the outside, so that my 1/4" adapter will be interchangeable between all my cans. It needs to be right angled for space and because the cans will live on the left side of the Nomad bag and plug in to the right side of the Nomad. Anyone know a part number or likely source?

Hey everyone, So I was referred to this forum by someone over at Gearslutz (click here for my original forum post on this, in detail), as I'm trying to build something which may resemble the 'sound carts' which I've heard some of you may have used. The concept I'm creating is a cart that I can use as a live music performance station; this consists of a small computer, a touch monitor, and peripherals to handle my user input via keyboard, audio I/O, and foot control. I'm thinking of doing this pretty DIY by getting a hand truck such as this one, and then mounting a case (like this one, with the lids hinged to the box), with my gear mounted inside t…

Curious to know if the receiving version of the 761k exists and if anyone might know a part number? Working on a project for a friend. Tried mouser and digi key etc but no luck nor on the googler. Thinking there is a specific part number rather than just 761k female. Also not sure if i have the gender right? The standard cable plug 761k is noted as male on mouser but the receving end i am looking for would have the pin and the threads and also be put on a cable vs a panel mount. -Ken

I am going to wire an older AT899(cW) for a Sennheiser G4 3.5mm. Am I correct that I connet the Mic (white) to the tip and tie the Bias(red) and ground to both the ring and sleeve?

I've seen a few people using Sennheiser stereo IEM transmitters in bag/cart mode powered from the bag, not mains. What size or part number is the power connecter to go into the transmitter? In my case EW 300 IEM G3. Does the cable need to be regulated to 12v? I'd imagine the TX could handle 16v but the manual states only use the supplied mains unit. I am powering my bag using Hi-Q batteries with either an Audioroot BG-DU or BG-DH. Couldn't find this information in their manual or online. I have no knowledge on how to make a cable that regulates/limits the power, so if that is required it may …

A long shot here but… amp is fried on this powered speaker i used to use in the field, and at one time there was repair services for what must have been a common problem with these powered speaker modules. I sat so long on the repair that repair kits or repair services seem no longer available. Anyone here ever replace a powered amp module in a speaker? Would still like to try n repair even with dif amp manufacturer or convert to passive speaker

Here are a few pics of a little addition I recently made to my mix bag (Petrol PEGZ-1F) workflow that I wanted to share with all of you. Found this Logitech Keys-To-Go Bluetooth keyboard (http://support.logitech.com/en_ca/product/keys-to-go-ipad) at Best Buy, which has been handy for punching notes into the Sound Report Writer app on my iPhone between takes. The interfacing with iOS isn't perfect for navigating through the app's text fields (I'm hoping to find a way to map out custom key commands to tab around more easily between fields, OR fingers crossed.. this will improve with an app update from Tyler at Inaudible Labs *pokes*) but after some field testing, it's de…

I want to get a power supply for my BDS so I can run off AC power. Remote Audio make one but due to covid supplies are short and wait times long. I figure it wouldn’t be too hard to get a laptop power supply and solder on a TA4 connector. The Remote Audio ones are 12VDC 5A max, but does anyone know the power rating?

I'm currently looking at re doing my cables, including a db-25 loom for audio and power for my radio RX. It's a case I don't want to do this twice, so may as well make it superslot compatible. My current recorder has 2 UART serial ports and I'd need to leave one free for the control surface, so I'm wondering about adding a serial multiplexer to split one UART port across 4 RX Any reason why this wouldn't work?

It was once suggested to me to try a drop of olive oil as a method for cleaning the cables on DPA 4071 mics...it sort of works, but sometimes the adhesive from using surgical tape can be difficult to remove-I've been advised against using adhesive remover as it could be potentially corrosive and cause damage to the mic cable... Has anyone come across any other successful methods of cleaning lav mics?
