  1. I have a SWIT NP-1 and a Hawk Woods shoe with a couple of hirose outputs, I power my Lectro receivers from those. The SQN also has a power outlet which can be handy for other things. Now now, I only just bought the Lectros last year, and then only because Ch69 became unavailable for use (rendering my 2020s obsolete!) However, I will probably buy more channels in the future and if I get the NOMAD, they'll almost certainly be Zaxcom. It's good to have variety, especially with selectable input delay (one thing sorely missed on the SQN).
  2. Well a big cheque has just arrived which makes this potential purchase much more likely. Can I get some neutral advice on what, if I buy a Nomad, accessories I would be best purchasing at the same time? As I'm running 2 Lectro SRs, would I be better advised to use the line inputs on the side, to keep the XLRs free? Do Zaxcom supply their own umbilical cables, for output to camera (via 2 * XLR + minijack)?
  3. I still use my Portabrace Audio Organiser that's now about 15 years old, but it's seriously lacking in zip up pockets and things to hide stuff in. Thanks for the recommendations, I have a lot to think about and not much time to think in (tax year ends soon, if I delay until after that then I don't see the benefit on my tax bill for another year).
  4. Thanks. I'm just trying to future-proof myself as much as possible. I have all kinds of obsolete gear in my cupboard, the less of that I see in future, the better. I've already searched the forums but it can sometimes take an hour just to read one thread...
  5. Hello there, I'm seriously considering the purchase of either an SD664 or Zaxcom Nomad to upgrade my kit. Currently I have an SQN5 with 4 Lectro SR channels and the usual bits and pieces, booms etc. I have a separate CF card recorder but frankly, using it in the bag is a bit of a pain. I'd prefer an integrated solution. I'm leaning toward the Zaxcom Nomad 10 right now, mainly because it has Zaxnet, which would seem to make syncing timecode between multiple devices much easier. If I bought a 664 I'd then have to buy some Lockit boxes, something that doesn't seem to be required with the Zaxcom. IFB audio/timecode is icing on the cake. Are there any pitfalls I should know about before I spend my hard earned? Does Zaxnet cause any problems with the Lectro receivers, being so close together in the bag? And speaking of bags, who makes the nicest for such kit?
