  1. I like the Betso TCX-2+ Small, removable AA that lasts a day at least, 500 meter wireless range, Solid BNC connection, built-in OLED display to compare to camera, switchable to transmitter or receiver, will tell you when another box's battery is running down, works with their slate wirelessly, and you can set it up so that when it senses a TC signal, it automatically turns on, Jams and starts broadcasting.
  2. Low and behold, look what's on sale at 33% off Today only: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1025750-REG/sony_uwp_d11_14_bodypack_lavalier_mic_eng_package.html
  3. Sony has done a small re-vamp of their UWP wireless system at NAB. The main emphasis seems to be on about a 20% size reduction. There is a new (smaller) smart hotshoe adaptor for the receiver, and one option seems to be the ability to flip a switch on it and decide whether it outputs analogue audio or digital audio through the hotsoe. They will be doing an update to their Z280 camera (which has two such "smart" hotshoes), and I would assume that will enable the digital throughput aspect. The update will also allow camerapeople to see signal strength and receiver info in their viewfinder. Another really nice feature is that the scan-the-band and sync feature is enabled by a dedicated button, rather than having to dig through the menus. No word so far if they are coming out with a new two channel receiver. Here's a video that shows some alternate views that the currently released press photos don't:
  4. Sony UK has some specs up now: https://kellyonatangent.wordpress.com/2017/09/17/dwt-b03r-sonys-third-generation-digital-transmitter/

  6. For those of you unfamiliar with Really Right Stuff's operations and manufacturing capabilities, I did a "deep dive" on them a few weeks ago when I happened to be in their city. The video doesn't discuss audio components, but it does give you a feel for them as a company. They are quality in my opinion.
  7. Jacques of Aaton Digital gives us a rundown of the features on the Cantar Mini. I think he said he had 60 ready to ship to start satisfying backorders next week.
  8. Yes, but that wall would have the nicest coverage ever 😬
  9. Sorry no, I should have asked. They are still prototyping so if you wrote them I'm sure they'd take requests under advisement. He did mention that they are thinking of making a shorter collapsed one for shipping.....
  10. I haven't seen much audio equipment at CineGear, but Really Right Stuff intend to launch a boom pole line soon. Check out the features they are working on in this video:
  11. Not comprehensive, but a glimpse at Ben Osmo's rig on the Alien: Covenent movie. Interesting that Ridley Scott is asking him to play creature sounds on set to help the actors emote. https://kellyonatangent.wordpress.com/2017/05/25/behind-the-scenes-the-sounds-on-set-of-alien-covenant-tested/ I spotted Sound Devices, HME Intercoms, Ambient timecode, and I think a Cinela windscreen.
  12. Nice to meet you as well and put a face to a name. You did great on camera!
  13. I was looking at Sony's NAB video and saw the oddest mic ever. They make a $10,000 tube mic that has its own onboard cooling system, complete with radiator out the back. Crazy.....but cool, in both senses of the word. About 9:52 into the video...
