Was there last week using Blocks 24 and 26 with no issues. Had block 25 on hand but never got outta the case. mike

What popped into my mind ... I'd try a Sennheiser 441, Neumann sounding, great isolation and high spl. mike

I just got back from a shoot in Houston flying South West. The crew checked 8 cases and we carried on 2 bags each. I took almost 150 pounds of gear in 2 pelican 1620's. We arrived early for a direct flight, not really worried about something not getting there. I follow the IDX instructions for air travel and that is for me , can check an NP1 on the equipment but the spares must be carried on board and protected.(I carry each in a shure mic bag.) TSA opened one case which had my bag rigged without antenna's and I usually place mic cables on the bottom. Returning, I placed the cables on top and neither were opened. I don't know if that made any difference. Just depends who what when and where. Happy flying .... Mike

Oh yes, waiting is no problem. The real question is staying in a bag with a Nomad or a future box and being able to record multichannel in the box is huge. I'm very happy with the flexibility of my workflow, although going through a 2 foot door is an issue. I'd be happy to pull the plug on the large cart. Just thinking out loud.

I've been in the slow process of a large cart project. I currently work out of a bag (SD 442 / Lectros) and cart. I'm now rethinking .... staying in bag land, looking at the Nomad or waiting to see if Sound Devices is coming out with something new. See pics of the project... any thoughts Mike

Philip, I think as long as you have a six banger you are ok ... I 've spent the past week moving my shop with a 10' with no worries. mike Thanks all on the trailer comments.

Thanks Robert and Michael, I've been working out of my Nissan 4x4 pickup without a topper. You gotta do what ... . Started looking into trailers to find side doors on a 5x8. Do you use it as an empty box or setup with shelving for cases or what? Pic's would be great if you have time. Back to the topper, I know that it would be the next cost effective , dryer and more secure step. Thanks. mike

? For the trailer guy's. How are your doors configured... ramp rear and a side? mike

Michael, whats your take on the sonic quality of the 680? mike

Last month, worked a project called "Secret Church", a 6 hour live streaming production. Talking heads and unplugged band . Back stage view... "flypac" not really a trucked system, 4 camera switched feed with video roll in. all cameras captured iso. Sound mix using a Yamaha MCL7 - 32. Top gear line was video, second line, video roll and streaming gate keeper. Sound lonely third row. Viewing attendance was over 47K.The location was a secret. mike

recording lines for animation feature in the open (desert)
mpsanos replied to soundtrane's topic in General Discussion
Thinking out loud. Recording your dialogue with only a shotgun and a lav kinda defeats the purpose of ambiance??? -
studio595, I have a friend here in Nashville that could give you some advise on preparation for playing such tapes. He has done many archival projects. What a great find! mike

I've used the word " Freelancer " because of the different hats being worn. mike

Philip, I've watched it done a couple of time and it never made any sense to me... being solo, think about it ... a rats nest of lines, you on your knees connecting and rolling a rolling spool. Then next gig you are unrolling .... The times I saw it, a guy unrolled a line number request then coiled them for pickup. I don't know. My 2 cents. Mike

Racking Out Rubbermaid and Gemini Jr. Carts
mpsanos replied to Jan McL's topic in General Discussion
Jan, I'd suggest on the isolation part using a rigid foam ( like in shock mounted racks ) cut the footprint size of the star frame both top and bottom , then bolt. Mike
