  1. Dear god, please endow me with the strength...
  2. Hello all! My name is John Harton and I'm a recently graduated Sound Design student from the Savannah College of Art and Design. My wife and I are moving up to Atlanta after I get back from a gig in CA in about three weeks and I wanted to put myself up if anyone needs a boom operator or utility. I'm looking to ultimately get into narrative work and also recently wrapped my first feature as a boom op ("Christine" which shot in Savannah). I'll be at the ATL sound mixer mixer at the end of the month, but if anyone has work they need help with or have to pass up, I'd appreciate any and all the help I can get! Can't wait to get involved in the Atlanta sound community, from what I hear the sound crews of middle Georgia rock a mic like none other! Feel free to PM or call at 970-two three two- 6840 . Cheers!
  3. Congratulations to all the winners! Last night was my first CAS and it was spectacular! I can't wait to get out in the world and start working with you talented folks!
  4. Thank you guys so much for the advice! Tonight is the practice slot so I guess we'll be taping off a maze to run through! Bringing camera in is a little trickier but sounds like the perfect situation to work with. I think I might be suggesting we shoot the upcoming student projects indoors from now on just for the practice! Haha
  5. Hello all. My friend and I are both lucky to study sound design at the Savannah College of Art and Design and we have access to a Fisher boom, apparently one of few out east. We've set up a time with our department to be able to practice this niche skill twice a week for 2.5 hours each day and are looking for suggestions on good exercises to help home technique! Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
  6. I've got an old Azden FMX-42 that I use as my backup. Could this be done to that as well?
  7. Definitely looks like something to be taking advantage of
  8. Man, what a machine... We can dream!
  9. Seems like a great alternative for those of us just starting out!
  10. Reminds me of an SKB case rig I saw on here recently! Nice setup
