  1. Dpa are nice. Lately have been getting into da cappo. They seem to stay on heads and ears better, especially in the event of a misguided hug in a live show situation. Yet to try the da cappo with the integrated earpiece for ifb, but a nice concept none the less.
  2. I would say there is some artistic license in choice of compressor. A urei 1176 will produce a different sound and effect than a neve 33609.
  3. I was in Hong Kong a few years ago with a cmc6 and mk4. It was only 10 days but the weather varied between hot humid and rain. No problem with schoeps. Definitely clean and look after them and have a back up just in case.
  4. Not the standard for Australian tv. Maybe for radio reporters. Usually mic cubes/flags or occasionally a printed windsock.
  5. Hi. Welcome. My first piece of advice is do some research. This site has amazing amounts of information that will answer a lot of your questions. Spend a large amount of time reading about real world experience of others in the many posts on this site. Never buy something because you hear it is the best. These are opinions that differ due to personal taste. Lectrosonics make excellent products, so does zaxcom, so does sennheiser, so does audio limited etc. Read manuals and specifications of products which may explain the $400 difference in price. If possible rent or borrow equipment and have a listen for yourself. Microphone choice is also a personal taste, along with situational. The ACMA regulate frequencies in Australia. What works in some areas may not work in others.
  6. Is there any possibility that the new fader panel for the nomad can be made to work for the fusion? Just a thought but it would be outstanding to be able to control trims on a piece of hardware. (other than the mix 8 or mix 12 of course.) Or control aes inputs.
  7. Mine has left zaxcom for Australia and I am told it should be here by the end of the week. In saying that I put an order in very soon after the announcement.
  8. Congratulations, That is a good buy! When you receive it and have time, put it side by side with a 411 and no delay, 2 transmitters with lavs on 2 people side by side in let's say an interview situation, and mix both to a mono track. Keeping in mind that this would be unscripted so both faders would need to remain open or at least mostly open so as not to clip any words. I would be interested to hear your thoughts.
  9. I was responding to a 411/211 situation. If you had 2 subjects on lavalier mics, One being a 211 and the other 411 receiver, and they are close to each other there is a time/latency between the 2 signal paths. Depending on the situation it will sound strange when the 2 are mixed.
  10. Dial it in. In some situations it may be fine but get 2 side by side and you will notice it for sure.
  11. I would also add some kind of talcum powder and topical anti fungal cream. Nothing worse than walking all day with chafed bits.
  12. That was quick! Thanks Jack
  13. How long can you run your rig on your custom 2 lithium np1 set up?
  14. Perhaps you should consider strapping a small toaster to each to simulate generated heat also!
  15. Or create a sub mix on your mixer and feed the walkie into that?
  16. Bummer about giving it back. Great to hear it is going well. I have been soldering in anticipation of mine arriving. Thanks again Jack.
  17. Please don't turn the car around, I will be good, and you promised to take us to Wally World!
  18. Are you still testing yours Jack? If so how is it going?
  19. Is it ready yet???? When???? Please be soon.
  20. Page 8 of erx series manual states timecode can to be sent left, right or both left and right so it is going to depend on how you configure it in software.
  21. There was no particular order Mike, just key aspects to consider.
  22. Frequency, Intermodulation, Tx/Rx antenna placement.
  23. Upon further investigation pleas ignore last question.
