For years I used Millimic. They are "clunky" and the mounts don't work very well.I found the mic. body and cable to be microphonic [ my biggest problem with them}.I now use Cos 11's mainly and love them.

Max Penner with Ed Di Giulio [of Cinema Products} worked on developing super fast lenses and mounts for "Barry Lyndon".I remember back when Max was telling me about working on the film and he was all excited. For me it wasn't that exciting because it wasn't sound and Ryan O'Neil.-----Ed Di Giulio is listed under Camera credits. J.D.

Pre-record the band. One with vocals the other without vocals. If they want a "live" feel--have them do live vocals.Use phonaks for P.B. When recording, put a separate dynamic mic. on the kick drum. J.D.

I've seen Don Coufal [Jeff's guy} Do much more amazing booming than that. Hard booming is when you have a dinner table with ten people and three fairly tight cameras and the scene is ten minutes long. That's done all day long on TV.----Oh,and a chandelier or two. J.D.

It's become the "Wild West" out there. It's become a pain in the a## constantly having to listen to see if the "hits" are on dialogue. J.D.

He's 100% correct about the 552.The navigation is not logical and can be difficult to change the set-up on the fly.I have sold most of my gear, but held on to the SD442 and SD744t to do small jobs in retirement-----Rock Solid set up.

Check out the Zoom F8 in about 8 months or so after it has been beta tested and hopefully corrected. It has a lot of problems and does not live up to their specs. On the other hand,I own a 744T and it has never let me down. Dependability is of course, mucho important. We don't know about the F8 yet----wait. J.D.
