  1. We have a service center as part of our office in Los Angeles and plan to roll out regional authorized support centers in Atlanta, NYC, and Seattle in 2024. We also have service centers in Singapore, Amsterdam, and Seoul. Sadly, the part you need is not something we had in stock in our LA office so it needed to be shipped from overseas. We do have the TC-1 battery, 3.5mm PCB, and mainboard PCB in stock.
  2. I would love to talk to you more about this idea and find out how we can better provide service to the industry as you put it. - Andrew@DeityMic.com
  3. Correct. This first kit of UHF in the THEOS ecosystem is meant to be more of a mainstream wireless kit aimed at the broader video production market. That's not to say it doesn't include some features that appeal to beginner sound mixers who aren't into an ecosystem yet or a mixer who wants to put together a compact ENG bag kit. We have bought some AES and DANTE dev kit stuff that will allow our engineers to study and learn those higher-end pro features that yall would love to see on a slot / pro-RX unit. All sold THEOS bodypack transmitters will transmit OR record when inside the USA. Outside of the USA, all THEOS bodypack transmitters will be able to transmit and record. The preamps in THEOS (and the PR-2) have been completely retooled and don't share anything with the previous wireless mics we produced. In terms of range, we were doing range tests for folks at NAB who requested them. Paul Katzman requested one, and I showed him the range using a sharkfin. I walked toward the Aputure booth. When I asked him where the audio dropped out he said "it never really dropped out, but it did get robotic sounding for a few seconds when I passed right next to Libec. We did another walking test for a tech engineer from Raycom UK. For that one, we did it on whips and got to the other side of the Riedel Communications booth. Both tests were conducted during the show, and we used a frequency that the D2RX suggested after running a scan of 550-608MHz. See attached map.

  5. Los Angeles, CA - May 19th, 2022 - Deity Microphones is announcing 2 brand new products and a phone app that make up their new timecode ecosystem. The TC-1 is a wireless timecode generator and the TC-SL1 is a wireless smart slate. Deity premiered prototypes at the NAB Show in Las Vegas back in April and is now showing them off to the general public for the first time. They have also opened pre-orders through dealers online. Both the TC-1 and TC-SL1 can wirelessly pair to a cellphone or MacBook using Bluetooth and the Sidus Audio App that Deity has also launched. The app allows users to remotely control all the settings on both devices, display battery life, and wirelessly sync all their timecode generators to a single source. Users will get 250ft of wireless control range and from there 30ft of timecode sync range for a max total of 280ft. Along with Bluetooth remote control, both timecode devices can also be controlled using the on-board menu navigation with the 1” OLED display. This allows users who prefer confirmation of timecode via a screen the option to use the device without needing a phone. The TC-1 can also receive timecode from another generator, like a professional sound recorder, and then transmit out that SMPTE timecode signal to all of the TC-1 and TC-SL1 units within 30ft on set via a secondary 2.4G RF radio. This secondary wireless sync feature means the TC-1 can fit seamlessly into different workflows. “We wanted to make this new ecosystem appeal to people who love cellphone apps on set but also those who desire a more tactile approach to their gear,” said Andrew Jones, Product Manager at Deity Microphones. “We felt this was the next innovation in timecode equipment, a combining of features that have been scattered across other pieces of gear.” “It has an extremely user friendly interface, it’s affordable, and really intuitive” quoted Ethan Lee, professional TV/film Sound Mixer from Los Angeles, talking about the Sidus Audio app. “It’s a really good tool for easy organization.” Mr. Lee tested the new ecosystem while running timecode for an Olivia Rodrigo concert film in San Diego. The TC-SL1 is a timecode smart slate designed for the TV/film industry. It’s the world’s first slate to feature Bluetooth control and also ships with a rather unique method of power. Instead of using AA batteries like all other slates, the TC-SL1 is powered using NP-F550 rechargeable lithium battery packs. These are the same batteries often used by the camera department, the individuals who will look after a timecode slate after it’s been synced by the sound department. This new battery method for a slate allows for 300% more battery capacity, hot swapping, and charging via the slate’s 25W USB-C port (another world’s first for slates). “When we started to design the TC-SL1, one of my biggest goals was to move slates away from AA batteries and into a more renewable power solution. AA batteries are fine when it’s just 2 and the device is small, but when a device is the size of a slate we need to start to think about ways we can incorporate denser, rechargeable power sources that are better for the environment,” Andrew said. “We even went as far as to design our own NP-F550 battery packs that provide 32% more battery capacity than the average NP-F550.” Deity’s TC-1 is now available for pre-order for $169 (until the end of August when it will go up to its regular price of $199) and is also being sold in a 3 piece kit for $549. Units are expected to ship in the middle of June for most regions. The TC-SL1 timecode slate is also available for pre-order for $999 and is expected to ship at the end of August. About Deity Deity Microphones launched in April of 2018 with a single microphone and a straight- forward mission: bringing professional gear to filmmakers, content creators, and videographers of all levels. 6. The Deity Connect ecosystem isn't WiFi. It uses a different protocol on the 2.4Ghz spectrum. We selected 2.4Ghz because its usable world wide and you don't have to worry about frequency blocks when you travel abroad. Yes this setup works. And you can trigger the individual recorders on each BP-TRX via the dual DUO-RX's UP and DOWN keys. The BP-TRX does not do wireless TC but rather each units features it's own TXCO to handle local TC generation. This gives for a more accurate clock.
  7. Who did you email? I haven't heard anything from our customer support about this. You can always email me directly Andrew@Deitymic.com It sounds like a lot of you hate the dual mono file aspect of mono mode. I'll have the team fix this in the V1.2 firmware update.
  8. Los Angeles - Deity Microphones is excited to announce they have signed a license agreement with Zaxcom for 5 patents. This agreement will allow Deity Microphones’ new BP-TRX units to transmit and record audio at the same time when purchased or used in the United States. The license deal covers all BP-TRX units already shipped to the USA and all new units that will be produced going forward. This means Deity Microphones will now allow USA customers to have access to the international firmware updates starting with Firmware V1.1 (released in early June 2021). Customers who have already placed pre-orders and are awaiting the shipment of their BP-TRX units can perform a firmware update on day one of ownership to unlock all the new features. “We are thrilled to have worked out an agreement with Glenn Sanders and the Zaxcom team,” Andrew Jones, brand developer of Deity Microphones said. “We are excited to showcase to our US customers the full potential the BP-TRX will have on their video shoots. It’s been a long 2-year journey designing the BP-TRX and this license agreement with Zaxcom is the cherry on top of all that hard work.” In 2005, Zaxcom released the TRX900 which was awarded a patent for the ability to transmit and record timecode laced audio. It was a world first and was recognized for a technical achievement in 2016 by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences with an Emmy Award and in 2017 by the Motion Picture Academy. In June 2021, Deity Microphones now becomes the first brand ever to have licensed these patents from Zaxcom. 9. In your country yes. You can do all that from the DUO-RX. The up down keys on the DUO-RX will remotely trigger the REC features ANd in the menu you can select the transmitters and put them to a sleep mode. You can also wake them up remotely. what you are asking is currently illegal in the USA.
  10. It is a consistent 19ms. It's not based on transmission range or distance between devices. The 19ms is related to the audio buffer in the transmitter that handles retransmissions of data packets. This gives the receiver a few milliseconds to check for any packet loss, request a retransmission from the transmitter and for the transmitter to submit it so the receiver can insert the missing data before it hits the DAC and sends audio out to your recording device.
  11. For your setup that would work perfectly. We do recommend them for talent lavs but as I said before they best work for JWSound users as cameras hops because I'm assuming most members of this forum have spent $20K-40K on wireless from other brands. The max transmitter limit of 4 will prevent their usage as talent lavs for most members of JW also. But as a camera hop, not many productions run more than 4 cameras. If you are doing ENG work, small bag work, small HGTV reality shows were its a real estate agent and a couple... ya. The BP-TRX would work perfect for your use case as a talent lavalier system. If you turn off the transmission feature and use them as a pocket recorder you will get +21hrs of operation.
  12. 1) Everything is roughly the same here. We are still using latency as a way to allow for multiple retransmissions of a data packet if there is a blimp of interference to smooth over any dropped signals. Same latency modes as the rest. It will connect to "legacy gear" but we did give it a stronger ARM chip and more nanflash for firmware storage that did allow us to add a heavily modified version of our 2.4G protocol so we could do a 1 to 4 multicast. But at it's core is still the same protocol. 2) Yes and no. You wouldn't install it as a stand alone "plugin" but rather we'd upgrade your firmware to have V2.XX and we added XYZ extra features. I won't commit to noise assist but... there is onboard DSP and an ARM CPU so... there is room to grow. How much reduction would you want though? Would you really want it at the further up stage in a gain stage structure or would you rather recorder it in someone's pocket as clean as possible and add it later like in post? A lot of people don't like to do more than a gentile low cut in the field. 3) They are sitting in the our US and EU warehouses right now. Letting dealers collect pre-orders. Some regions will ship sooner than later but customers should be getting their units mid-June. 4) I'm a little confused as what you are asking here or what your pairing to what. 5) For you it might be better as a camera hop. For videographers it might work well as a single channel wireless kit one day and work as 2 audio recorders the next for a wedding. They can be what you need for the day.
  13. Correct. There is not option to scroll thru different transmitters via a single receiver. These aren't really meant to replace a sound bag but rather act as auxiliary wireless systems for users on a forum like JWSound. For users on this forum these would work best as camera hops or timecode based plant mic recorders like car rigs. Kally Williams has been using them for the past week as a camera hop on her shoots. Here is what she had to say about it. https://www.instagram.com/p/CPT6oYCJ4lH/
