  1. Is there any news on the tonmeister app being ported to the iPhone? I'd love to get started with the ACN, but don't want to lose my CL-Wifi if I move to the beetle.
  2. That's my bebop bag. The CL-9 shelf is actually a DIY job of mine. A modified laptop stand surface bolted to some bearing drawer runners which are heavy duty velcro'd into the bag.
  3. I have just been using the BeBop cart on location in and around city centres in the UK for the last 3 weeks. Its very big, and the supplied wheels are too small for any kind of stability, but since I got a shakespeare fishing seat box trolley and secured it with some ratchet straps, it's been golden. It's very well made and easily holds everything I need, has securing points on the outside to strap on a c-stand for transport, and fits easily in my ford focus. I'm currently knocking up a sliding shelf for my CL-9 to turn it into a proper cart. The next few weeks will give it a more all-terrain test, so I'll let you know if there are any other points to add.
  4. I've been using a Marell microwave SD link with great success although the image can get a bit scrambled when there's too much range involved. I got an AJA HD10MD3 which is doing a good job at the downconverting. They are cheap on the used market from steadicam guys who have converted to HD. I've since managed to pick up a 1st Generation Teradek Bolt for a good price, so I'm keeping the Marell for SD jobs and backup.
  5. Rado, have you got a snap of how your kit fits inside that 1440? That looks like a great little case setup.
  6. Interesting. Quotes 10-20dB reduction but no mention of over what frequency range. Quite expensive to cover a medium sized area though. £250 per sheet, although I expect there are quantity price breaks available.
  7. I don't really have the budget for an MCR42 at the moment, so I was thinking of starting with the ENG Rx and upgrade later on. The Lectro L-series is looking a bit more tasty now that you mention the lack of limiters in the lite Tx.
  8. Has anyone had any experience with the Wisycom ENG Kit? The MPR-30 ENG RX and the MTP-40 Lite TX. I'm in the market to upgrade my G3 senny's and this looks like a nice combo for a wide-band solution. I know the RX units don't have top mounted controls, but I'm not too bothered about that. The important battery and rf led's are mounted high up, so I can still see them at a glance in my bag. It looks like there is a 5-pin version for hirose power too. Has anyone had any experience in the field with them? How do they perform?
  9. I've owned mine since the first batch, but I've always charged them before shooting with them and simply jammed them and slapped them on the camera. I've not yet had to configure them before jamming.
  10. Their website now mentions that the tx can "capture the live audio stream" on the SD card. Very interesting. I'd still love a 2ch RX though.
  11. They've just announced a plug-on tx for this system. Could be interesting. Anyone had any real-world experience with these systems yet?
  12. I get around the lack of a locking connector with a bongo tie. Not the best, but it would take a seriously talented AC to knock the cable out. Also had to do the same thing on the other end of the cable on a BMCC shoot a few weeks ago to stop them knocking the LTC out of the audio input. For the price, I love the tentacles. Haven't had a single problem with them in the few months I've had them. The sync software is brilliant too. I'm really looking forward to the imminent IOS config app.
  13. Hmm, good point about the ISO issue. I think a fine gain adjustment is more what I'm looking for. Only small adjustments, knock it back a touch when someone gets a bit loud or excited during an interview etc, whilst keeping both hands on the pole. I think I'd be ok with that being a post-fade ISO. So mic in, line out. Replacing the preamp on the recorder essentially and moving it to the pole.
  14. Originally I was thinking just an active attenuator, but after looking into it a bit more, this probably going to introduce all kinds of impedance issues. I think a full mic pre might be a better way to go. Something like an SD MP-1 but in a CL-2 form factor.
  15. Not a bad price. Tempting. I'm planning on using it with my 788t while in OMB bag mode. The end game is to add a 633 to my kit list and build a slim-line doc rig.
  16. That looks like a great product, except for AAA power and the non-standard cable. I'll keep an eye out for a used one for sure though.
  17. Hi, I've seen the Sound Devices CL-2 fader and I like the idea of being able to ride the boom whilst keeping both hands on the pole. My only concern with it is having two cables, one a bit of a rigid cat-5 style cable running from my bag to the boom and getting tangled and cumbersome. Does anyone know of an in-line fader that I could hook up to do the same job, but not adding extra cables and mess to the equation? My signal flow thinking was mic - boom cable - fader - short coiled cable - mixer. Thanks,
  18. I'm looking for a rolling case which can hold everything I'd normally need for a doco rig. Normally this would involve a pre-built bag, vdb-m boom, rycote, a selection of mics, tx, tc, cables, wiring kit, batteries etc. I'm normally rolling with a well filled Peli 1650, but having to lie it down to access it and having 7 clips to open is a bit of a pain. I've spotted the rubbermaid quick cart and the dimensions look appealing. I like the top access, so my bag can live in the top shelf with everything organised underneath. Anyone seen one of these or used it or have other suggestions? The top access element and the all-in-one format is a plus for me as long as it doesn't get prohibitively heavy. http://www.rubbermaidcommercial.com/rcp/ObjectServer?table=PDFs&id=1235&name=RCP_Quick Cart - Specification Sheet.pdf http://www.rubbermaidcommercial.com/rcp/products/detail.jsp?rcpNum=1902465
  19. I'm waiting on mine arriving. I notice on their website that the software only runs on OS X 10.9+ Does anyone know if this is also the case for the configuration software? I'm a bit concerned that my macbook won't be able to configure them as I'm still running 10.7.5
  20. I am also very interested in the OR-41, but for my 788t/CL8. Does anyone have experience with the 788t in the OR-41? I've heard it should fit nicely, however I'm concerned about access to the headphone and menu knobs. I want a nice, compact solution, so I'm in two minds as to the suitability of the OR-41 compared to the OR-32.
  21. That sounds interesting Todd. How much would you want for it and is there any way to ship it to the UK?
  22. Interesting. That could work. I could velcro it to a panavision slate. The number stopping thing though. Would that make sync an issue? I read the manual and it says it does have a feature where you can turn off the display, but it only happens 5 seconds after TC stops. Anyone know if it holds the display when TC is lost? I could fabricate a magnetic switch to cut TC when the sticks close.
  23. Thanks, will do. bblist will be awash with requests!
  24. This thread has been dead for a little while, but I'm in the market for a smart slate. I have a number of lockit boxes and I wondered if there is anyone out there manufacturing dumb slates at the moment? I thought I could save a bit of cash and velcro a lockit to the back of the slate rather than splashing out on a full ambient or denecke slate. Is this just wishful thinking?
