I agree regarding adapting with the times. I came up in large commercial rock studio. Lot's of fun, and a lot of great people in those places. Such a great education in working with people. It seems like the trend is for these places to become private now. Places like Sunset Sound Factory, The Pass etc. Guys that are still operating with a decent budget are leasing these places on yearly contracts. Better than becoming condos or shopping centers.
