  1. 😄 I took the habit of asking first since I bought 3 cards for a recorder that wouldn't work after testing (and they were ''above specs'' of course, but later said to be ''too fast''). No big issue since these cards work A1 into my digital cameras, etc... so, well… but now having quite a few cards around, I'd rather ask than buy another bunch that'll end up as gifts for my nephew's phone or my friend's camera. Thanks for your input ! 👍
  2. It's been seen that too fast a memory card won't necessarily give good results with some products. Faster is not always better from what I've been reading. That's one of the reasons why manufacturers tend to give an ''approved cards'' list nowadays.
  3. I was wondering if any of you tried a 32Gb card that works flawless with the recorder ? The approved cards list is still the same as when they released the unit and it's just 16Gb cards in that list... I guess I'll try one of the same listed cards but with a 32Gb version if nobody did it so far...
  4. 🙂 reminds me of a montage I did from our ''view from the hotel'' on a contract a few years ago ...
  5. Feb. 10th and still no discussion about all that gear we've got in our craving minds for 2019 ? I'm stunned… 😄
  6. ...a nice future update would be to re-ignite cl-wifi development (either SD or tier party) for the 7 series owners who still love their machines too. 😬
  7. Yep, memory card door out the very first time I opened it… : / Lectro's usually better than that at design ...!
  8. These have been really great to me for years now… https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/491481-REG/Dot_Line_PC_AA_AA_Battery_Case.html
  9. Speaking of Loon, didn't some well known company (I don't rememeber) took the relay ? I heard something like that but I suppose it's only rumors… ? Got an 11 years old Loon too and still to this time, it's been the best boom I've had.
  10. Well, dots being your recorders… ●--tc--> not <--tc--● not ● <--tc-- --tc--> ● not ● --tc--> --tc--> ● yes! yes! ● <--tc-- <--tc-- ●
  11. To me it looks very simple; you got standard IN and standard OUT connections from your Lemo, with the option (through menus) of swapping the IN for an additionnal OUT if you wish, including genlock. So you go with a common Lemo 5 pin wired as all the big players do (Sound Devices, Lectro, etc) and if you'd like to feed another nearby unit from your main one, you can easily do it just through the menus. This is also the connector used for genlock on multi-cam shoots. As additionnal info, since I just received my Ultrasync One units, they provide two cables identified as ''blue'' and ''red'' to ease up on setups I suppose; they're the same. Shell to shell, pin to pin (DIN 1.0/2.3 to BNC connectors). So if you swap your blue cable for a red one, everything should work all right. It's just a ''label'', if you wish...
  12. to follow: pin 2 is for IN/OUT depending of what you chose in the menus, pin 5 is OUT only so that makes it kind of a ''souped-up standard lemo connection'' … https://support.timecodesystems.com/hc/en-us/articles/115001143632-What-are-the-pins-used-for-in-the-pulse-and-wave-
  13. Yeah but that doesn't answer the question as to why they use the same pin (2) for both in and out ? First time I see that… testing the cables they sell would maybe bring light onto that question...
  14. I guess the IFB mode with an SM series wouldn't work with the latest IFB units ? (the M2R rxs)
  15. There still is no miracle device yet but very near one ! I reckon I added one feature on top of what I was looking for from the start : -Screen showing TC -wireless sync between units and now: -ability to link to iPhone/android app and show TC on screen for script work or GoPro sync (I doubt sound people buy the GoPro backs from TS because they're not ''one model fits all'')
  16. Well, I'm at the local dealer right now and it desn't seem to work with only an Ultrasync ONE as a master... 🤔 The "braodcast to app" (to give it a name) is not a function available with the Ultrasync itself ... you probably use the Wave or Pulse unit to broadcast TC then...
  17. I got a question regarding the Ultrasync ONE: If I got the TCB app (the first app that came out for iPhone with Timecode Buddy line, NOT the Blink newer one), will it be able to link with the Ultrasync ONE master and simply display a TC on my screen ? In other words: do I absolutely need the Pulse or Wave unit to be able to display a TC on my phone ?

Yes. First line of my post: ''... and if I had to buy right now, I'd go with Ultrasync One or … '' Concerning the ''you might want to hold off'' part newzhack, I guess you signed up for their black friday soon-to-be announcement ?

I own Tentacles and Mozegear boxes and if I had to buy right now, I'd go with Ultrasync One or Betso boxes. What I miss now is capability to sync wirelessly multiple boxes (instead of ''re-doing'' the set box by box) and a display; for the market here, the FS7s have practically replaced the C300s which had a display at the back which allowed me to have a peek at the TC from time to time to be sure everything's all right.
  20. A guy I worked with last two weeks had two of them break. I got 4063s in my kit and so far so good (but don't use 'em often) and I'll be watching things about their response as to waranty. That could be a deal breaker for me if they ever say ''too late, sorry'' as there seems to be so much of these mics breaking either at the head (capsule) or along the wire.
  21. What I meant is for quick spot checks here and there during the day and back from lunch; if you're one second off you know immediately. With my 633 it's been usefull sometimes just before shooting after a break since the internal clock has a limited time holding the TC . WHICH leads me to another topic: it would be great, since you already got a ''foot in the door'', to talk with Sound Devices about implementing an optional hardware (or software, as you wish) option transmitter that would work with the ACN system to send TC to our boxes from the mixer/recorder.
