This is a great program which is discussed in a thread on this workflow forum just a couple days ago.

Jeff, my condolences to you and your family.

Well, I guess I needn't have concerned myself with this. The remote control was not wireless but a wired joystick so no problems for me, a short day and home again.

I'm going to be working around one of these Robo Cams next week, Sony BRC-H900 recording to a PIX 240. I'll be running three talent wires and sending wireless scratch to the Pix and also to another camera so I'm concerned about RF from the remote control. Does anyone have any more information at what frequencies these are spitting out RF? I see Wandering Ear's scan is in the lower 600s.
Thanks. Bob

Thanks Jason and Matt for the photos.

The two PC board antennas I ordered arrived yesterday.

Hey Jason,
The image of your finished antenna is no longer available. Could you post it again?
Thanks, Bob

Jeff,
After the upgrade I keep getting a "page reloading" message and find it difficult to read the forum. This did not happen previously.
Thanks, Bob

Thanks for the replies on this.
All my lavs either work or don't work so I could not go that route. Instead I picked up a short Beyer Dynamic gooseneck mic on Ebay for $20 and that is working just fine. I put it in the battery pocket of the Petrol with the mic just sticking out.

My error.
Matt Mayer The only fader pack available for the 688 is the CL-6. The CL-6 can be bottom mounted since we had to change the top connector to accommodate the SL-6. -

Robert Buncher Matt Mayer. Are you saying not Mix 12 for the 633 or no mix 12 for the 688? Thanks.
-
Matt Mayer Correct. The 633 doesn't have any connection available for any external fader pack.
-
Robert Buncher Thanks for the reply. I believe some folks were misreading your statement to mean no fader for the 688 and I did not think that is what you said.
-
There is a good thread on this-- search "Jwsoundgroup Peter Engh 7-pin". Based on that thread I decided to make my 7-pin XLR snake using the 7th pin as ground.

For those of you who are using an external slate mic on the 664, what mic are you using?
Thanks, Bob -
Thanks Eric.

Thanks Pierre,
My concern was sending an unbalanced signal into a balanced input. Up until now I had been sending just an audio signal from a G2 to the BMC. I would jump the shield and ring on the G2 1/8 and connect them to the shield on the BMC 1/4 and then connect the G2 tip to the BMC tip. This works fine.
It seems my option with sending both TC and audio is possibly:
TIG 1/8 to BMC 1/4 x2
Shield to Shield Left and Right
Tip (TC) to Tip Left (TC)
Ring (Audio) to Ring Right (Audio)
I'll try this but I think there will be the problem of unbalance into balanced.

I need to make a cable to send time code and audio from a TIG to a Blackmagic camera. So the BMC has two 1/4 inputs which are balanced. I want to send the TC to one channel and audio to the other channel. I'll be splitting these from the 1/8 connector. How would I wire this?
Thanks,
Bob

Glenn, thanks.

I friend of mine asked if it is possible to recover the programing on an helical video tape from the early 1970"s The tape is a Sony V-32
I see that there are companies that offer this service and was wondering if anyone on JWSound has used any of these services and , if so, how did it go? Is there any company that you would recommend?
Thanks,
Bob

CraigF, thanks for the info. Bob

Thanks Gavin. I figured it would weigh in about there and so ordered the 633 and 607. That should give my aging back a break on long days. I carry my lavs and tape in a bag on my belt. Bob
